As you can see, we now
have again 15 teams! Steve R from the Okay, as stated I am now
looking at Saturday 3 Oct as the date to hold our draft. Our daughter
Lauren will be here from the island to assist me in setting up a
special MSN chat room so we can conduct the draft. It’s the
best "AVAILABLE" options as I have exhausted all
others and I don't have the $$$ to embark into something huge. I prefer
the KISS principle! So far I am looking at 2pm {Ottawa/Buffalo
time} I have also spoken with Russ to see if there's a way/place where the
Ottawa/Gatineau "gang" can gather around with a few brews? I
know that there are a few teams already that have that MSN option
installed. I really want to test prior to the draft so we don't have
another "unpleasant" situation. When you set up your MSN
profile, please use your team nickname as username as it will greatly
facilitate whom Lauren is chatting with! Again, the use of serial
number + NHLer names is my preferred option. For assistance for all the non-experts and perhaps
"old geezers" like myself, please approach one of your kids or
bud's kids as there all pretty much "experts"! If there is an issue with
2pm {Ottawa/Buffalo time} on the 3rd Oct, then please let me
know soonest? As far the new rules
goes, because of the large margin and unanimously approved rules I didn't
feel the need to go out again. However, I will forward at some point a
general view points on all serials based on all comments received which were
detailed and well thought of. Lastly, if anyone would
like a copy of my latest Excel and working file, please let me know and
I will be happy to forward.... For Octopuses - Thanks for being the first to nominate Steve Robak For Old Time Hockey - Thanks for your efforts in trying to recruit another poolie, perhaps
once he express interest, he can become our 1st standby? |

As a follow-up to my last
update last night, included in the rules is a tentative date of 1100
{Pacific} Saturday 03 October 09 for next season draft as one owner will
be moving the weekend prior. In addition, an error on my part on
the Cap limit itself, it should have read and now set at $70,800,000. I'm off to Best of luck to all |

Here's the latest, I have
updated all the team rosters {NHLers salaries and new teams}, next draft
order and rules; however, I am still waiting to hear from Terry
MacIntyre on whether or not he is officially re-joining the DASH
League. That said, pending to hear back from Terry prior to midnight
Sunday {Eastern Time Zone}, I will welcome new applicants {first come} and if
I don't hear back from Terry prior to midnight Sunday night, I will award
Rented Mules franchise, as is without any conditions as it is very late in
the summer and some teams want to get going already. Although, it isn't
the best team, it is a team with crafty moves can quickly be turned
around. "IF" by
the end of August there is no taker whatsoever for Rented
Mules, then I will have no choices then to fold the team and we'll
go with 14 for one year, thus making all Rented Mules players available for
the upcoming draft, then have an expansion the following season.
My preferences are for one of us to find a suitable hockey bud
to come forward and assume this challenge ASAP and have the preferred 15
teams? On a more pleasant tone
all except for Rented Mules have paid and I sincerely thank you! As of
Friday 1800 hrs {EDT} 7 Aug 09
all DASH League activities may resume including trades as the site
will be UPLOADED prior to 1500 hours {Pacific}. Again, only
trades carried out via the DASH League web site's forms will be accepted
as I tracked them!!! Unfortunately, for the time being trades involving
Rented Mules' all assets is not permitted pending a successful resolution.
Perhaps, Jim Ballsilie would be interested? Please let me know of any
concerns? If there's a concern, please bring me a solution :) |

I am back online today
and here's a quick update and status where the DASH currently stands at this
time: - To date all but
four teams have paid and hopefully the remainder four {Destroyers,
Snipers, Scott and Terry} will have paid their upcoming
fees soonest preferably by 31 July; - I have a week to
try to update rules, rosters and web including Terry and Scott new team
logos {100 x 100 pixels}. For Scott, I have your new team's nickname
{thanks}; - The SC for next
year will rise by 100K to $72,300,000; - Teams 8 + 2
protection TBC later, more likely around Friday 18 Sep 09; - Tentative draft
date TBC later, more likely Saturday 26 Sep....; Unfortunately, the pool
has been second behind the move and new job! |

Just a reminder that your
comments and feedback's to the "Discussion Paper" are
due no later than Sunday 17 May
as I will be away house hunting in Chilliwack from the period of 8-16
inclusively. To date, I have received two returns {Silver 7s and Team Stick
Death – Thank you}. Now, and it is with
regrets where I have known this individual for many years already, and this
week I was informed by one of our most authentic and one of the original
owner {Tony - Slam Dunk} has decided to withdraw from the DASH League
following the completion of this season where his family and increase
professional commitments just don't allow him to spend the required time on
this pool. That being said, I was
able to secure a replacement who on 1 July will take
over Slam Dunk team with a new nickname and logo. Through Old Time
Hockey we were able to recruit a new owner who originates from For Slam Dunk - Again, from all of us we wish you well with your projects and your
ideas/point of views will surely be missed by all and more importantly
for me your strategic knowledge of the game and certainly our many
interactions through trade’s negotiations will surely be missed at least in
the DASH. Please keep in mind that the door will always be opened should
you decide to rejoin at a later date as we hope the DASH League will continue
to live and more importantly strive with strong and competitive folks
like yourself. For Scott - For your information, and once again thank you for coming forward
and wanting to venture in this pool where you will find it to be
both interesting and challenging where we are all hockey fan first! |

Please find attached our annual "Discussion Paper" listing new/amended
rules proposals for the 2009-10 seasons. That said, at this time, I am just seeking your "non-voting
comments only prior to mid-May 09, so I may tabulate all comments
and re-submit them for your final vote {"75% or 11
Franchises"} prior to the end of the playoffs so we may begin the
2009-10 activities on 1st July 09. Again, my preferences, is for all of us to have a
well-deserved break from all activities for a few weeks and resume activities
01 July 2009 with the
lottery draw. Furthermore, by 30 June 09, all 15
Franchises must have paid in full. Generalities: - There are a total of 9
serials; - An innovative idea of trading Cap
space is now up for discussion; - I am also bringing two points from Destroyers and Flycasters respective for discussion; and - If anyone wishes to bring up any of the
serials for discussion in the Forum, you may do so by just generating a new
thread. **IMPORTANT NEWS** I
wish to take this moment to inform you that I have accepted a civilian
position last Thursday within Department of National Defense in Chilliwack,
BC . The anticipated move is for the end of this June or
early July. Therefore, my intentions are to keep the pool
going and with all the work ahead, I hope you will remain committed as much
as I am. If not, please let me know soonest as I don't want to see a
recurring of last fall event and will seek new owners prior to July
1st. To that end, I am now working with Mike to see if we can bring the
online draft from Yahoo. More to follow! |

The pre-final stats following Sunday final regular
season games have been posted this morning for your review and final player
movements decision. That being said, here's the last reminder: - Monday {Today} NLT 2000 hours “FINAL AND BEST ROSTER”
{Note 1 refers} - Final opportunities to activate player movements from ACTIVE or/to BENCHED status
respectively; and - Final Regular Season Standings
will be published at 1200 hour tomorrow. Note 1: Definition of “FINAL
AND BEST ROSTER”: Prior to submitting a "FINAL AND BEST ROSTER", a team must look
at all options to better their own position “upward
in the standings” even if it's a slight increase of only .5 PTS
in any of the eight categories, as this could potentially alleviate any issues
prior going to a tie-breaker situation. Failing to submit the final
roster, the Pool Administrator will then review all non-submitted final
"BENCHED ROSTERS ONLY" and these will be made
regardless of the wishes of the team as this represents the idea of putting
the "best individual team roster" forward. The Pool
Administrator will then advise the affected Team (s). Note 2: There will be no Regular Season FAPs used
between now and the release of the final standings 1200 hour tomorrow
Tuesday following the conclusion of the regular season. **Playoff
FAPs** may begin at 1201 hour Tuesday! |

As of today, there's just a single week left with
various races oh yes including the NHL and again I just want to bring forward
another reminder: a. 1 week prior {Monday} – Final opportunity to drop player's from
existing roster's and last opportunity to
claim a {WD}; and b. 1 week prior {Monday} – Final
opportunity to claim your last Regular Season FAPs is NLT 2000 hours on the
last Monday PRIOR to the last final
Regular Season game played. Both items above will be re-visited prior to the
start of next season as these deadlines were dealt with in the days of manual
tabulation and with the availability of online data we could expand these
deadline by a few days. **Heads-up**
Your starting Playoff rosters of 8 x fwds, 4 x defs and 1 x goalie are due NLT 1800 Wednesday 15 Apr 09. The
online format/look will be as per last year where only the
team rosters will be shown. |

As we all know the regular season ends 2
weeks tonight; therefore, here's a friendly reminder: 15. Regular Season Final Roster Timeline Activities
will begin 2 weeks {TBC} prior to the final release of the publication of the
NHL regular season stats, thus allowing for some regular season roster fine
tuning and mainly for transparency as this will allow each individual team to
begin filtering regular season roster's as follows: a. 2 weeks prior {Monday} – 2nd last opportunity to drop player's
from existing roster's and 2nd last
opportunity to claim a {WD} via e-mail request's as per paragraph
8; b. 1 week prior {Monday} – Final opportunity to drop player's from
existing roster's and last opportunity to
claim a {WD}; c. 1 week prior {Monday} –
Final opportunity to claim your last Regular Season FAPs is NLT 2000 hours
on the last Monday PRIOR to the last final
Regular Season game played; d. 1 day following the conclusion of the
regular season {Monday at 1800 hours} – The WD claim's “IF ANY” will be awarded in accordance with
paragraph 9; e. 1 day following the conclusion of the
regular season {Monday NLT 2000 hours} “FINAL
AND BEST ROSTER” {Note 1 refers} - Final opportunities to
activate player movements from ACTIVE or/to
BENCHED status respectively,
that will ultimately show on the 1st Tuesday following the
publications of the official NHL statistics; and f. Final Regular Season Standings
will be on the 1st Tuesday
following the publications of the official NHL statistics resulting from the
final regular season games {normally the first Sunday in April}. Note 1: Definition of “FINAL
AND BEST ROSTER”: Prior to submitting a "FINAL AND BEST ROSTER", a team must look
at all options to better their own position “upward
in the standings” even if it's a slight increase of only .5 PTS in
any of the eight categories, as this could potentially alleviate any issues
prior going to a tie-breaker situation.
Note 2: There will be no Regular Season FAPs used
between the period of Tuesday prior to the end of the Regular Season and the
release of the final standings {Tuesday following the conclusion of the
regular season}. Please let me know if there are any issues or
concerns. PS: As far our annual "Discussion Paper" on the rules changes/amendments
proposal for Hockey season 2009-10, I have drafted 6 so far and potentially a
7th one will be added. They will be made available for your comments
during the beginning of the playoffs and voted on during the Stanley Cup
final and to be implemented July 1st. |

08-09/23 |
With a
full week left for our trade deadline and before finalizing a trade
here are some last minute "friendly" reminders: -
At the end of the regular season, your active roster players must have all
played a minimum of 25 GP {fwds/defs} and 1,500 minutes each of
your 2 goalies as there are subject to penalties; -
For those teams without FAPs, beware of your SC at all times especially those
players with O salary who "might be" activated
by their NHL clubs and as a result could be over the SC will still
be your responsibility and are also subject to penalties; -
When trading picks, please make sure you are trading the right ones and have
the referred draft picks. There are plenty of updated pages with the
available information; -
All trades with SC implications must be completed no later than the deadline
itself i.e. the 72 rules; -
Again, I won't process any "forwarded" concurring
e-mails, the online form must be used and please don't be shy to use the
"comment" field to pass me your instructions; and -
On the last day, I will update and post both the transaction log and standing
pages only as often as I can. That being said, once the deadline has
passed I will upload every singe pages for your viewing. Incidentally, both Octopuses (3 weeks) and Poolmaster (1 week returning prior to
next weekend) are away and "might" be available through the
forum only... That
being said, best of luck to all the teams and enjoy the last week of
trading!! Again trade deadline is 1800 hrs Sunday 8 Mar 09. |

08-09/22 |
With
15 days and few hours left before our own trade deadline and to unfairly
have an advantage over everyone's, I want to share the master Excel file with
all the teams for which is the essence is our League data. The file is
almost 7MB in size and has multiple macros {11 of them}. We've
added a new feature via a new "Transactions Update"
macro where you will now see the "TRADE"
transactions only as the FAPs are separately located on its own
worksheet. As far the drops made, it’s not a major tracking data.
With the trades, you will now be able to see which draft picks were traded/acquired. You
can navigate using the main menu and menu buttons. Now,
with the trade deadline, you can move player serials around and see where you
would fair in any trade proposals. Once you've moved player serials
around, and from the Excel menu, select Tools, macros and then select "Team_Stats"
{this will sort your own individual team stats}, then select RUN. Now,
to find out where any trade proposals would put you, from the "Reg
Season" button of the main menu, you then select the "Stat
Page" macro button. Please don't change colors as
everything is programmed as such for which makes my life that much
easier. Because of the make up of Front Page and the web, I am required
to have this file this way for which I upload various sheets online
for everyone's viewing. To be
honest, I don't profess to be an Excel expert here as some of you because I
am not to the extend this file requires; however, with the assistance with an
acquaintance has been able to assist me. Again,
the playoff ONLINE look will be as per
last year and very basic..... |
13/02/2009
09:16:16 |
08-09/21 |
With
the past flurry of activities and the tighten of some of the races
in the standings, I want to remind all the teams as of today we are
definitely on a trade deadline countdown as we 23 days left. Again,
a trade isn't approved or processed until I received both ONLINE trade
form as this serve for one a proof and secondly a formal online record. Your availability
to respond to all others is recommended as I am aware of one
"lucky" owner who be prancing around As you
know especially for our two latest partners {OLT and Underdogs},
before I can process a trade I look at three rules of thumb one being will
this help a team this year, or the playoffs or next year. As you
most have noticed by now, your team sheet has been expanded to include
futures salary years. As I was updating all the salaries I've also
updated this year salaries as based on NHLers performances, bonuses were
added. Please don't worry; no team is over the SC. Just you all
know, when the playoffs begins, I will revert the layout of your page to the
playoff looks, too much programming for just a few weeks. Following the
playoffs, I will upload the final regular season rosters including the added
features. Finally,
as playoffs approached, and as per past years, I will begin putting some
ideas {rules} for next year and one is your confirmation you will return
{I sure the hell hope so}. I don't anticipate major changes. May
the next 23 days be good ones for all of you! |
08/02/2009 16:52:21 |
08-09/20 |
With
the floury of activities this weekend, thus accelerating few races, I want to
take a moment of your time to remind you that when you're submitting an
online trade to also make good usage of the comment field. In turn,
this will alleviate additional e-mail requesting clarifications especially
movement of players. A
reminder that if a team goes over the cap following a trade, you have 72
hours from the moment the trade is posted to make the necessary
roster moves. As far FAPs goes with the cap scenario, you have 24
hours only from the moment it’s posted online. Including
the "IR player", at no time during the regular season
and playoffs can you have less than 24 or more than 27 players on your roster
including 1 x IR. Basically,
when accepting a trade and before submitting it to me, please review
your overall situation as I just don't have the time to go over
everyone's roster. Finally, for planning purposes within days you will see a new look with your
own individual online roster as I have added another table with similar
sizing that will now reflect your NHLers salaries for the next 7
years. You have the true picture of who are to become |

08-09/19 |
Just a
short update for which I want to bring up few points one being that we've
reached the half-way mark and although there are some close contest, I want
to bring up the point that no matter what one does, it affect the standing in
more ways than one. Another is a reminder that at the end of the
regular season, your active fwd's/defs rosters must have a minimum of 25GP
and 1,500 MP by the Goalies. Finally,
it is something that comes up every single year and pretty much by now
almost everyone's has had an issue with trade offers. As an
example, I am including an e-mail I received earlier today concerning
trade responses. I am sure Bob Gainey, Brian Burke and all other NHL GM
responds one way or another to trade queries. Therefore, common
courtesy senses must apply here even through you feel the trade query
doesn't warrant your time. Again, as you know many of you travel
and are away; therefore, let's us know through the Forum. |

Although
I drive in to work and with the OC Tranpo bus strike currently
taking place for those of us living in Ottawa, the stats and web pages except
for the weekend will be updated daily in the afternoon until a
settlement is reach as I am departing earlier than usual. |

08-09/17 |
With
Christmas festivities fast approaching on all of us, I wanted to put a
short update out. **Important**
As previous years, I will be away again this year and unable to update
the web on a daily basis. Although shorter in time this year, we will be
travelling to BC and Seattle from the period of 21 - 28 Dec 08 inclusive. Therefore, I wish to
suspend all ONLINE activities for that period only. Nothing stops the
teams from making FAPs and/or Trades; however, they will be processed in
a chronological order and confirmation upon my return. Again,
although making online FAPs, it does automatically confirm that players is
yours, it just confirms that your requests has been made. In
order for me to put a good product out, and as always I value each of
everyone opinions/ideas; therefore, I need your inputs and it doesn't
necessary having to always put comments in the forum; however, your
VOTE ONLY does and as an example the latest one dated 3 Dec 08 on the
SOG vice the +/- stats does and to date only 5 teams took time to
vote. It did generate some good comments and plus the one I received by
e-mail will be kept and look at it again a bit later. Therefore, your
online vote on all matters affecting the league counts and more
importantly it is where I get my ideas. Again,
for the record, I try to post the overnight stats as follows {0600 daily
during the week and before 0900 hrs on the weekend}. |
23/11/2008
08:56:51 |
08-09/16 |
I wish
to bring your attention and perhaps redundant on my part; however, the usage
of the Forum his highly recommended as some of you are or will miss out on
some important and yes interesting threads. Obviously,
I can't force anyone; however, I would hate for a team owner to miss out on
an opportunity to be informed or at this time on potentially acquiring a key
player(s) that might make the differences from winning / loosing some of that
hard fought cash. Once a day is the recommended option as I try to be on
top by posting the overnight stats first thing in the morning over a
good cup of coffee and the rest is up to you! It is
up to you!! That being said, I have posted some ideas for next year and since
overnight, there's been new threads on the availability of sure "keepers". Personally,
I prefer using/receiving private messages {PM} from the Forum and how
you negotiate deals amongst yourselves is up to you. Also
available nightly, is the NHL Scoreboard which you select the game that
interests you and ESPN provides instant and very detailed statistics on your
favourite players. From the ESPN window, just select the back key to
return to the main Forum window. **Reminder** When making online
FAPs/Trades/Roster changes, please don't forget to select your team as one I
know who's submitting and second you get an electronic e-mail confirming your
action. **Important** I will be away again this
year from the period of 21-28 Dec 08 {Christmas in Again,
nothing here is directed at one team(s), just generalities as I want you to
enjoy and make maximum usage of the Forum and web site. PS:
Rumour as it there's offer(s) sitting in team’s online Forum waiting
answers!!! |

I have the misfortune and
unpleasant task to announce with this update that Dan Lyons {Underdogs}
has decided to pull out from the DASH League effective immediately.
Dan professional commitments and upcoming projects don’t allow him to spend
the required time on this pool. That being said,
Underdogs roster is frozen pending new ownership has I have in contact
with our standby folks and hopefully one will commit. If all
fails, I have another avenue for which will be explored this weekend. For Dan - Again, from all of us we wish well with your upcoming projects and
your ideas/point of views will be surely missed by all and certainly by
me. The door will always be opened should you decide to rejoin at a
later date as we hope the DASH League will continue to live and more
importantly strive with fine folks like yourself. To all - It business as usual and I will keep you inform of new ownership
once known. |

08-09/14 |
I have
added a very important new thread including a new pooling question on the
Forum on its own call "EXPANSION 2009-10" for your
general review and comments. On any thoughts, questions and any other
issues related to adding a new team can be posted online and review
by all. I will respond as require and add my own views as
comments. Again,
when filling out the online forms, please don't forget to select your
team from the drop down menus as I don't have any idea who's initiating the
request. I have also slightly amended the change to roster
online form to include benched, IR or just drop player(s). Let's not
forget it’s your team and your responsibility to move players around. In
addition, when making trade(s), please maximize the usage of the comment
field to let me know instructions on who to move and so on. This will
save time to go back to you to seek additional information. |
25/10/2008 08:07:21 |
08-09/13 |
Although
we are at the early stage of the season, I somewhat detecting a short of
interest by some team owners already as there're talents available for the
price of a FAP(s) and have noticed that some teams {current standings speaks
volume} with a key FAP or two would easily be in contentions. If your
idea it is just to pay $50 and become non-active, then to those who are
active we say thank you. I realize we are all pretty busy with family,
work or other reasons, that is why I have gone the extra mile to make this
pool more friendly and more importantly time saving, as an example I try to
have the overnight stats available first thing in the morning. I also realize
that for some teams we've been hit with injuries to key players or others
aren't performing to the level we've become accustomed to; however, let's not
forget it is a game within the game and here are one of my objective is to
see all 15 teams having fun and "oh yes" win someone else's money. As per
my last post in the Forum dated 21 Oct regarding the subject of WD for which
to date only 3 teams took the time to read the thread as Team Stick
Death brought a valid point worth considering later. I like your
views and for most you're not afraid to express your opinions and that's why
I have on occasions post a pooling question and as an example 42
read the one with only 5 votes, in my books it doesn't add up :) This
isn't a whinnying e-mail just a preliminary trend/concern as I see all the
online activities and incoming FAPs and roster movements through
e-mails. To those who are actively participating, I thank you and to
all others you are most welcome to participate as equal partners. |
10/16/2008 17:07:04 |
08-09/12 |
Just a
"friendly reminder"
- Although extremely early in the season, it is your responsibilities as team
owner/GM to move players from your active to your bench or vice versa by
using the DASH League "Online" Roster Change Form. This is extremely important as this affect the Waiver
Draft order. In
addition, you must replace your "down to minor"
players with players from your bench; otherwise, it is fine. Again, I
won't process e-mail FAP requests. |
10/13/2008 22:51:23 |
08-09/11 |
Just a
few minor points this evening including being careful when selection a FAP
from the online form drop list as it happened to at least four of us so far
including me that we must select our own individual team from the drop
list. Otherwise, a FAP request arrives here under 1919 Gen Strike as
the originator and adds to his personal e-mail in-box. Other than
that, the process works well and for the record I keep your requests in
separate online folders including my own FAP requests. In addition, to
date, there been quite of few requests coming in within minutes for the same
player(s). Secondly,
Mike {our web guru} has informed me today that he will likely switch our site
to a faster server. The only thing we might see tomorrow {Tuesday} is
"interrupted" access to the DASH site. Another
point, Roch Larouche uncovered some discrepancies this evening with
the "Regular Season Standings" and as a result, I am currently
addressing the issue and the accuracy should be 100% corrected
Tuesday. It only affected a few teams including Polar Bears. Lastly,
I am still in the process of finding a suitable replacement for Old
Time Hockey. |
01/10/2008 22:18:19 |
08-09/10 |
It is
with regret that I am announcing that for the time being and until further
notice "Old Time Hockey" roster is now officially frozen
from all the DASH League activities including FAPs and/or Trades as Deane has
decided to withdraw from the pool and concentrate on other pressing
activities. Unfortunately,
so far the search for a new owner has been fruitless and I will take the
necessary time to find a suitable replacement. That
being said, we as the League must move on and continue our opening season
preparations; therefore, ONLINE FAPs may
officially resume at 1800 hours Thursday 2 Oct 08. For
those who have submitted FAP requests will have to re-submitted as this must
be fair to all teams at once, and please take this as a practice exercise. |

I have
just completed a full review of last night draft and have since uploaded for
your review and immediate confirmation. That being said, I must compliment
all the teams for their fiscal SC management where except for one team
slightly over by $92K are all under the SC. Once I
receive all teams okay and there are no errors or omissions’, we will only
then open the FAP option. The current Free Agents haven't been updated
and will do sometime today or tomorrow. Now few important points: -
All teams may be over the SC of $70,700,000 until midnight Friday 3 Oct 08; -
FAPs and trades may commence once all rosters are confirmed including the
situation with Old Time Hockey is positively resolved. For Underdogs,
the fact your team and my team were both highly interested in selecting Mike
Smith in the 2nd round, and based on the fact you were ahead of Nighthawks in
the selection process, you will have first right of refusal once the
sequence of events is determined; and - From this moment and until the season
begin, I will continue the status of players being sent down to the minors
and rookie status as this will affect your bucks as there are plenty of good talents still
left unclaimed. Again
thanks and although many of you were pressed for time because of family and
social commitments, I appreciate your time and efforts. **Important** As you know we came a long way from the first season and with your
ideas we now have a web site that produces instant results and other
information. Honestly, I take this pool
to heart as much time and efforts has gone into trying to improve its
efficiencies. That
being said, it doesn't go unnoticed we have flaws and I make this commitment to you that I will
try to better the draft process quicker and sounder. My goal “if time permits” is to
see if there’s a way to simulate the Yahoo Online approach and perhaps via
the DASH Forum could potentially be the answer. Finally,
as usual I welcome any feedback's and ideas… |

I am back
on air again!!! Just a nasty Trojan which was attached to one of the IE
script file; therefore, affecting my key programs. In any
event all the web pages have been updated and uploaded to reflect
everyone's top 8 + 2 lists. I am also including my latest Excel
file with it all especially for those who intent to make usage of certain
worksheet for drafting purposes including bringing your laptops. Once here I
will show how certain macros and worksheets works and how it can help you. **Important** and please read
this part carefully - The web page/worksheets call Free Agents contains
"ALL" the necessary data to help you with your
draft list including player serials, salaries and 2007-08 final NHLers
statistics. I have also included all the top rated rookies per
TSN, various pool magazines and Dobber :). The data is sorted by
PTS. I will have a few print copies here too. I will not
entertain new additions at the draft as everything is linked to a serial
numbers and won't have the time or the interest in pausing to add a new entry
and can do so once the draft is over via the FAP route. Perhaps,
not fair to you, but surely to me and I will insist that we all use the
player serial numbers as it sure will make my time easier and more pleasant J {Thanks!}. Again
as approved and unless signed this upcoming week any NHLers earmark {EUROPE,
RFA and The
Salary Cap is set at $70,700,000. Just so
you know I am bachelor this week and will supply the pizzas at the draft and
perhaps for those interested can let me know your preferences and I will
order a few extra larges prior to. **Your protections** -
Please let me know soonest of any errors or omissions and will adjust
them and inform all. Again,
please be here for 1500 hrs and once all are here and online no later then
1600 hrs, we will begin the fun part….. For
Slam Dunk – You are on the clock
with the 1st overall pick!! Good
draft preparations’ and will see you all this Saturday!!! |

08-09/07 |
In
preparations for the new season, I just wanted to submit to you the
following points: 1.
8 + 2 Protection List deadline and due date is indicated on the bottom right hand
side of Forum menu; 2.
The draft player availability will be made available online and via
an Excel file on same night following the deadline; 3.
Draft night is still Saturday 27 Sep 08 with Slam Dunk
first selection at 1830 hrs and bring your own booze
and laptops as you see fit; 4. For those who won't be able to here live,
please let me know soonest of your alternate plans and NO, I won't draft for
someone else’s as I need to focus on the overall draft. For those outside the Ottawa area, please
let me know how you plan to draft i.e. MSN? 5.
**Important** and as agreed
with the latest set of rule amendments’, UFA/RFA Free Agents
and those now playing in Europe including all unprotected players
with similar designations WON'T be available
for selections and will be through the FAP process once they
signed; 6.
Players serials WILL BE REQUIRED when making your
selections; therefore, prepare accordingly 7.
Trade offers are to made via the Forum private messages as "IF"
you do it online I will instantly and automatically see all of them and it
would have an "unfair" advantage :); 8. Again,
regular e-mail trade/FAP announcements won't be accepted as I didn't enhance the
web just for it looks as this will be much practical for those who at times
won't have access to their regular e-mails; 9. As far the Forum goes, yes its new and the
easy way to return to the previous window is to either select Forum {from the
right side menu} or if you wish select Home located at the top left side of
the window. There are check boxes if you want to be notified by regular
e-mail if your Private Message {PM} was read or not. There four main treads and more can be
added including your very own underneath each of the four main ones. You may generate your own individual
polling too; and 10. If
you want to send someone a PM, just select the team under “Members” located on the right hand
side menu. |

In
preparation for the 2008-09 seasons, here's the latest DASH update prior to
our annual draft. In addition, please find attach the complex and very
informative working Excel {5.8MB} file for your strategic pleasures and
if you are well-versed with Excel, it can be a very useful tool. I
have taken the time to clean up/updated all the key tables so we may all
work with from the same data. Information was also verified with
external sources such as TSN, NHL and few magazines. 1. All the team web pages have been updated
and uploaded to reflect all NHL transactions including player salaries; 2. I have also taken the liberty to remove
NHLers from various rosters who retired and some third stringer players who
have signed with European team; 3. I have enhanced the "FAP
Availability" page for which will be updated again once all 15
protection lists have been submitted and daily thereafter. I STRONGLY
urge you to use it for our draft as it includes all the key
stats, salaries and more IMPORTANTLY
the player assigned serial numbers for which will be extremely at the draft,
because all my worksheets are inter-connected and I will be expecting them as
you make each and every draft selections. The rookies will be annotated
in red prior to the draft and thereafter! 4. For your information, the Excel file
has 8 x MACROS; therefore, beware.... :) 5. With all the recent European activities, I
received from Fly casters a Dobber article where he makes several
proposals. Its lengthy {one page} and
I will post {Forum} under a new thread.
Basically, it deals with most unfortunate situation {i.e. Alexander
Radulov} where innovative ideas are proposed and these “if approved” would
kick-in next season {2009-10}. Thanks Chris! 6. Finally, as we approach the start of the
new season, I will make more usage of the online ForumJ. Let me
know soonest of any errors, omissions and queries! |

As
this is the beginning of August, and although the activities are pretty
quite these days, I just wanted to remind all the teams that some are making
efforts to make contact with other teams via the Forum, and I am getting
comments that some are just "not answering" or perhaps interested
at this time. Again,
although I can provide the teams with a tool, it is up to each one of the
team to make usage of the Forum as they see fit. As an example, the
answer to why some are not responding is the fact that many are away on
vacations or at least in the process of relocating back to Head ups! Regarding the draft itself, I want to be extremely clear here when
making draft selection player serials will be used/required as my Excel
spreadsheet is built for that purpose and will do all the necessary roles
automatically for me through a series of MACROS. One being the elimination of duplications
and the other fast track the data though various worksheets before they get
uploaded online. At
some point, I will provide you with that Excel file for your own usage. More
to follow! In return, it will sure help you and cut down your time. Again,
the Salary Cap for the upcoming season is $70,700,000.
The same principle as last year was applied in determining the revise SC. |

08-09/04 |
A few footnotes
for your information and action as you see fit. This going to be
one of the only few times I will be sending an e-mail as I intend to make
maximum usage of the DASH Forum as the vehicle to pass any information;
however, some have either haven't had an opportunity to register or
still haven't connected due to relocation and/or vacations. That
being said, her are some footnotes: -
Nighthawks, Slam Dunk, Team Stick Death and Octopuses aren't available from
the period of now until sometime around the 20th July, again due to vacations
and/or relocations; - There's
been two trades already, all data and any others are all up to date and
uploaded. All signing are as today date and all team sheets reflect the
latest updates; - Both
Destroyers and Nighthawks have made players available within the
DASH Forum through the "Comments" field as Destroyers
is the latest one to post; - Again, I won't accept
any trade announcements via e-mails!! All teams are to use the online trade
form as the next two months will give you some opportunities to have a feel
and understand the process i.e. negotiated via the Private Message
{PM} function or chat room capability, then fill the trade form; -
Again, our 2008-09 Salary Cap is fix at $70,700,000. -
I will post any trades upon my return and as usual in a chronological order. |
06/07/2008 21:42:49 |
08-09/03 |
For
those 9 teams who have registered in the new DASH League Forum {Thank you},
these are added instructions on how to proceed with the new process
of making offers and finalizing TRADES. The
"old way" of sending e-mails to whomever has now been
replaced within the Forum Private Message {PM} option OR go to the Chat
option to initiate a potential trade.
To send a PM, please select the member’s option under the main
menu, and then select a team then a new window will open, then you
will see a small two heads icon, then select it and just carry on as per a
regular e-mail. The beauty of it, it
can be done from any Internet providers anywhere especially for those who
are frequent travellers. Although
the TRADING online form is 99% complete, it is solely to be used to fill
out your trade details. Once you've
selected the send button, I will automatically receive it via a generated
system e-mail to process and so are you and your trading partner. Again, the online form ISN'T TO BE USED for
making an offer as you will be prompt with the following temporary
message: Offers
to be made by Private Message Not using this form Thank you Use Back - fill in all
fields and Tick trade or go to the forum For
the time being {July/August}, please bear with us as we finalize the web site
so it is 100% operational prior to our draft. For the 6 teams who haven't registered yet, please do as soonest as
there are new threads and an opportunity to get on board. |

Please read at your own time and
leisure as it is strictly related to the new look DASH League Web site. Goal and objectives: It was with the intention to make it livelier, interesting and more friendly
users i.e. Revised Forum, online Forms and so forth. You will notice
there's a countdown to the 2009-10 seasons where we hope to have online
drafting and with timely statistics as per Yahoo. Contents:
Within
the Flash, there are 7 headers
within and I choose the most often used ones i.e. Daily Transactions,
Standings, FAP Availabilities and yearly Updates. Access to the Forum can be made from either
the header or down below the Home page by either registering or just login
in. I’ll ask that you register soonest as I intend to make good
mileage of this dynamic feature.
Please use your team nickname to register. In addition, all the web pages are
available and may be activated via the drop down list located on left hand
side column. Once the regular season begins, the Fox Sports scoreboard will
be lived with updated scores. You may also browse and view any
of the 30 NHL team’s web sites by just selecting them and use the back return
arrow to get back to ours. Of
course, there is bells and whistles i.e. a referee logo and when
browsed on will activate a whistle and if clicked on will bring forward the
rules document and the same document is available via the Forum. For most, you’ve heard the Hockey Night in
Canada Anthem already, and for some it might have become annoying. You can either ASAP activate the next page,
or mute it by clicking the button at the bottom of the page. It is our intention to add a feature that once
you activate the web page for the first time, you will have the option to
deactivate it and not having to worry about it. Forum: It is my intention to use that feature to
poll, post news, all of us to use it to discuss trades and much more. These chats can solely be between two
owners to discuss a potential trade or any other issues. I will also post reminder countdown clocks
so you will all be aware how many days left before a schedule
deadline(s). Bottom line, each one of
us will have to experiment with it as it as countless capabilities and yes,
there are two administrators. Forms: There are 3 x Forms and all are
linked with our e-mail addresses. All three are to be used by all or your
normal e-mail requests will not be
accepted nor processed. Bottom line, I am pushing / urging all teams to
make good mileage as this will enhance and help those who often on the road
and don’t have accessed to their e-mail address. The forms have been electronically designed
to make your life easier and provide you with a print record. Again, bottom line is, we are going towards
a dynamic online pool where we need to keep our interests / challenges going
in a world where we have other sites like Yahoo and more importantly with no
operational and design budgets. PS: For July and August ONLY - If you wish to toy / test with
them please do and make sure you enter a comment so I know it is just a
test. Once filled, I will get an
e-mail to action your FAP, Trade or Roster Movements requests. The Forms time zone can’t be
modified as they will appear to you as Mountain Time as the server is located
in Las Vegas. It shouldn’t have any implications to the time your FAP
requests are sent and received. As far the trading form goes, if
your select the “Offer” radio
button, it will strictly be between two teams. The option to include FAPs as part of a
trade is there and located on the right hand side of the comment form. A trade that includes 2009-10
draft picks then check the appropriate boxes.
A trade that includes 2010-11 draft picks please identify them in the
comment boxes as we ran out of rooms. PS: The beauty of it all,
two teams, can through an individual chat room discuss/negotiate a trade then
just fill the online form which can be done by one of the other team as both
will received an e-mail confirmation. As they say, the train has the
left the station and hopefully you will all continue to be onboard with
me. I will be very happy to assist or
answer any questions / queries. Again,
like a new car, please take it for a test run and let me how the ride is
going as I take my cues from you to better the site. Finally, unlike Yahoo and other
big Hockey Pool Corporation Web Sites, I don’t have the commercial
advertisements to compete; however, for us, it is a workable online tool. |

Being July 1st, the DASH League is now
officially entering its 5th year of operation and TRADE
activities can now “officially” begin for the upcoming
2008-09 season. The lottery draw was held with witnesses and the winner is SLAM
DUNK {Congratulations Tony; therefore Slam Dunk is now officially on the
clock}. Please re-acquaint yourself with all rules
amendments as changes were made and approved including one at my discretion
was added {following the death of Luc Bourdon}. Regarding, including a brand new look WEB
site { www.dashleague.com } - All the
necessary files and links have also been updated and uploaded {more
information to come}. All updates NHL trades, signings and salaries are all
up to date. Please bear in mind that I will be away for the 13 – 20 July 08 and as per usual all
traded will be action and posted chronologically upon my return. If possible, as you create your new FORUM
login account, please use your TEAM NICKNAME as your login {Accessible
from the home page}. Please let me know soonest of any WEB pages
errors or omissions. PS 1:
With all payments received on time, I wish to sincerely thank all for
meeting the deadline including the fact I've received cash, cheques, Pay Pal
and an INTERAC e-mail Money Transfer. PS 2: Although,
I can't hold trades, please keep in mind that
Russ {Team Stick Death}, Tony {Slam Dunk} and Steve {Octopuses} are currently
in transit as they are in the process of relocating/moving to Ottawa
from {Norway, Winnipeg and London} and I am sure they will want to be part of
the fun! Perhaps, you will wish to wait for three to settle down first? PS 3: Protection List of 8 + 2 will be due
at 2000 hrs Friday 20 September
2008 {Better timing than last year}. PS 4: Schedule draft date is at 1800 hrs for 1830 hrs Saturday 27
September 2008. |

07-08/36 |
Please find attach a detailed Word
document for your information. Unlike other pools, next Hockey pool
season fees are due to me no later than 30
June 08. We will begin the 2008-09 operations on 01 July 08 with the lottery
draw. As NHLers movements including new signings take place, I
will update the WEB Site accordingly throughout the summer. Please let me know of any issues for which can be
dealt with prior to July 1st. |
20/05/08 19:50:02 |
07-08/35 |
Please
find attached the "Final Rules Proposals" for
the 2008-09 seasons.
With the overwhelming and positive replies, I feel as the administrator,
there's no need for further voting as nothing much would change. As
far the options on FAP allotments go, again the views for the status quo
override the few others. I sincerely
thank all those who took the time to provide me with positive and
detailed feedbacks and ideas are incl those against. All comments were
seriously looked at and considerations given to see if there was a way
to make them fit and have on few without changing the philosophical direction
of the League. However, in the end like other processes,
sometimes we just can't meet all teams’ expectations at once. I
have taken the liberty to include all comments received in the remarks column
for your information. Therefore, I think these are
positive and pro-active serials here. **Reminder** Please keep in mind
that League fees for next season must be paid and received no later than 30 June 2008
as we resume all activities 01 July 08 with the lottery. More to follow after the playoffs. As
an open idea for the 2009-10 seasons, I have the idea of adding the
concept/idea of adding a "FARM team" concept. |
07/04/08 12:26:50 |
07-08/34 |
Perhaps an information overload here - That said, I am very pleased to
inform you that upon receipt of this e-mail we have our own URL www.dashleague.com
and the old one will disappear once I inform Yahoo. Come with that is also a decrease in our annual host fees;
therefore, beginning July 1st
the costs is only $15 total
annually. The new host is located in the UK with and the server in Las Vegas
through LVCS.net Therefore, no longer there's a need to add $12 to your annual DASH
fees. |

07-08/33 |
**Reminders** 06 Apr 08 -
Final NHL regular season games; 07 Apr 08 - I
will download of Yahoo and post Final NHL Regular Season stats; 07 Apr 08 - I
will post any successful WD claim's for which was awarded as long the
claim was made and received to me prior to 31 Mar 08; 08 Apr 08
- Your final rosters to me no later than 2000 hrs Tuesday. "FINAL AND BEST ROSTER" {Note 1 of paragraph 15 of the
rules refers}. Note: As far my own roster goes, I will
forward to both Silver 7s and Octopuses late Sunday night; 08 Apr 08 - Publish FINAL DASH League Standings no
later than 2200
hours Tuesday; 09
Apr 08 – FAPs may resumes; 10 Apr 08
- I will post online all Playoff rosters layout.
The online web pages will only reflect 9 x Fwds, 4 x Defs and 1 x
goalie. All non playoffs rosters will be listed as being benched. |
04/04/08 19:18:16 |
07-08/32 |
Please find attached our annual "Discussion
Paper" listing new/amended rules proposals for the 2008-09 seasons. That said, at this
time, I am just seeking your "non-voting comments only prior to
mid-May 08", so I may tabulate all comments and re-submit
them for your final vote {"75% or 11 Franchises"}
prior to the end of the playoffs so we may begin the 2008-09 activities on 1st July 08. Again, my preferences, is for all of us to have a well-deserved break
from all activities for a few weeks and resume activities 01 July 2008 with the lottery
draw. Furthermore, by 30 June 08, all 15 Franchises must
have paid in full. Generalities: - There are only 7 serials only including few "housekeeping"
serials in nature and they've been identified as such; - The idea of looking at another type of SC process i.e. "Performance
SC" is no longer a topic of discussion; - The
intentions here are to continue to move the yard-sticks forward and more
importantly trying to maintain our uniqueness while separating this pool
against any other pools. Hopefully, you'll see these proposals from the DASH
League point of view rather than our own interests. These proposals are
solely based on trends, observations and comments received throughout the
year. Therefore, some careful thoughts went into them and in return, I
am asking you to take your time and respond to them accordingly;
and - The proposals are mainly about the generalities of the draft
itself and another review of the FAPs accenting weight to the WD. Although, I am not promising 100% assurance here, I am however,
working with the assistance of a colleague to have by 1 July 08, online
trading, FAP claims and roster moves through online forms. In addition,
there's a very good possibility that we will have the following www.dashleague.com
domain; therefore, there is a possibility that our rates will also come
down. More to follow! |

07-08/31 |
With the Regular season winding down, I thought to provide
you with an update where the DASH League stands right now. With regards to Rented Mules, please take note of Dave's
new contact e-mail address is: dave.alburger@gmail.com With regards to FAP: Final opportunity
to place your last Regular season FAP(s) is NLT 2000 hours on the last Monday
PRIOR {31 March 08} to
the last Regular season game played. With regards to WD: Final opportunity
to claim and process a WD will be the final week PRIOR to the final regular
season play. With regards to final rosters: 1 day following the conclusion of the
regular season {Monday NLT 2000 hours} "FINAL AND BEST ROSTER"
{See note 1 of paragraph 15 of the rules refers}. NOTE: As far mine own roster goes, I will
forward to Silver 7s and Octopuses first thing Monday morning {7 April 08} or earlier so I am
being transparent. I have our annual Discussion paper for the 2008-09 rules
amendments prepared and ready to go and to date I have 7 serials to bring
forward. As per past years, I will send at the beginning of the
playoff with your return thoughts/comments prior to the end of conference
finals and will re-send with perhaps some modifications for final vote prior
to the end of the playoffs. Therefore, all will be ready to go again by 1
July. Finally, I've revamped the web site by eliminating some unnecessary
clicking/drilled down by adding the NHL teams and media web links directly on
the upper part of the home page. That said, my next "project"
will be to add trade and FAP forms directly live on live.
That one could be quite interesting; however, that's the next objective. Finally, let me know if you would like to see something else's added to your
own team page and I will see if it is feasible and I'll do it? PS: I will be away in Toronto {26-28 Mar 08} and Charlottetown {31 Mar
-02 Apr 08} - Therefore, the daily stats won't be updated these days and will
be in between and after. |
02/26/08 18:30:32 |
07-08/30 |
For your information, except for the individual 15 x rosters some activities
web pages from the first drop-down box {League Activities} are not accessible
at this time. Therefore, I am enclosing the latest MS Excel
spreadsheets including today's NHL transactions and the overnight games and
stats. Should there be some activities this evening; I will immediately
forward an e-mail to all. |
02/21/08 21:03:12 |
07-08/29 |
Unfortunately, with our latest PC upgrade at our home, the DASH Web
site is one of the casualties. That said, for the next couple of
days I will e-mail to you an up to date Excel file with all the
latest statistics. **Reminder**
Our trade deadline is 2200 hrs Wednesday 27 Feb. |
01/24/2008 05:20:33 |
07-08/28 |
As we continue to deepen into the regular season and playoffs, I just want to remind all that our trade deadline is 24 hrs after the NHL's which the 3rd week in Feb 08. At same, although I would like to minimize the rules amendments for the 2008-09 seasons, I will entertain those progressive ideas and put them forward at the beginning of the upcoming playoffs season as part of our annual "discussion paper". One idea I have in mind for two seasons from now is to add a Farm team; however, I will monitor how Russ' progress with his two pools first.
Just a reminder although there have been a few trades already and perhaps many more to come, that I look at three trading principles and those are listed within paragraph 30 note 1. Furthermore, please keep in mind that beginning with the next season regular season draft that we did approved a "Serpentine Draft" meaning it now affects round 2 only. Therefore, beware when trading any "positioning" 2nd round picks! |
01/13/2008 13:37:15 |
07-08/27 |
Just a short note to remind a couple of rules where trade talks intensified for all teams {let's hope so}. The most important one is the Trade deadline is permanently set 1 day fol the NHL regular trading deadline {3rd week of Feb 08} and the other ones are the one's dealing with the goalies 1,500 played minutes and a minimum mandatory 25 NHL Game Played {GP} a "MUST" be met by all active rosters {Top 12 forwards and 6 top defensemen}. Failing to do so, it will have a serious impact on your 1st eligible draft selection.
For your information only, the web site "might not" be available or updated for a day or so soon as we're converting the functionality of the site from Front Page to dream waver. In the mean time enjoy the season as there are plenty of games left and much still can happen to any of our individual teams. As usual, I am here available to respond to any query or questions. |
01/05/2008 09:53:54 |
07-08/26 |
I'm back...... For those in the military who
have traveled the service flight milk run will certainly understand that a 14
hrs trip from Comox to Ottawa can be quite interesting which included a
few delays there and there :). Hopefully, all of you have had very good Holidays
and again a Happy New Year to all the teams and successes throughout 2008. I've updated and uploaded
all teams and any others web pages this morning which includes Friday
night's games. Please let me know of any
errors or omissions. For those who took the time to visit the DASH Forum
throughout the Holidays I thank you for making the time to do
so. The most coveted FAP throughout was certainly V. Filpulla, F,
DET who was claimed on Christmas morning. With regards to the DASH activities -
Hopefully, you've had an opportunity to view the pros and cons to the
proposal of going towards a performance based 08-09 SC. At this time,
just take an opportunity to acquaint yourselves as this issue will surely be
brought forward during the rules proposals for next season.
Personally, I am just an equal voting owner as you. For
Rented Mules - With A. Volchenkov returning, you are now over
the SC by $2,257,420. Please let me know soonest {24 hrs} as to
what action you wish to take? |

07-08/25 |
Here's the latest: -
IF workable based on the availability of MS
Excel while I am away from the 20 Dec 07 through 04 Jan 08, I will update the
DASH activities in a chronologically order throughout the holidays through
the online forum. The complete web site will be updated upon my return; -
As far adding a 16th team prior
to the 2008-09 season via an expansion, it is now off as the potential new
owner has decided against joining our League next year. Therefore, if there’s a new owner it will
be through a take-over of an existing team.
At this time, we have none on standby; -
If you have any new ideas or rule amendments
for the next upcoming season, please think of bringing them forward as I
don’t anticipate any major and/or several changes except perhaps with SC
ideologies we wish to adopt in the future beginning with the 08-09 season; -
As far the SC options there are only two: -
One being the current SC system equals to the
status quo or
the one Russ’ proposes by which it is solely performance based where the $$$ are
assigned by on historical past data and where a weighted factor is added to
that year {i.e. Joe Thornton got for 06-07 26.08 PTS, 05-06 29.32 PTS and for
03-04 18.36 PTS = 260.80 PTS including a weighted .2 for each PIMs. Therefore, for the past three-years
weighted is given as follows: 06-07/.75,
05-06/.50 and 03-04/.25 respective} = $39. That said, am enclosing an older version of
Russ’ Excel salary table for your information with emphasis on the most
recent completed season. Playoffs stats
are excluded from this equation. The
advantages are: -
Highest output performers are of course more
expensive and rated higher at all times; therefore, this idea would factored
in NHLers’ slumps and long term injuries; -
No more NHLers’ contract hassles i.e. yearly
front loaded contracts to suit a team over the others and others for which we
are currently experiencing i.e. Vanek and Penner; -
All salaries for all upcoming seasons would
be automatically/instantly determined prior to 1st July xx;
therefore, making it easy for any subsequent FAPs and/or Trades; -
All first year rookies would be
automatically set at $1 vice having to guess/worry about their draft bonuses.
Therefore, rookies perform and are assigned a future value based on their
yearly performance only like all others. -
Therefore, it is a major structure changes to our League and that
will require 75% {11 team owners} to
put into action. Again, it won’t be voted on until later on in the same
process as previous years. That said, it now gives each one of you time to
think, evaluate and debate the merits of its implementation. The usage of the DASH online forum is recommended. Finally, a sincere thanks you to all of you as
you made the League very interesting and for all your interests, participations
and involvements during the past year.
I hope the pool has been as enjoyable to you as it’s been for me.
Enjoy the break and the festivities amongst families and friends. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all teams
and families! |

Three points: Firstly, in
references to paragraph 6, 7, and 37 of the rules. This issue here concerns the recent FAP claim of
Scott Neidermayer by OTH. Although,
the initial assessment was that Neidermayer FAP falls under 6 and 7E
respective; therefore, a team would have 24 hrs to come. That said, following an appeal by OTH and
further review including reading various news sources including the NHL, it
appears we have a grey area here as we've never so does the NHL
dealt with a “SUSPENDED” player under the new CBA and SC and that www.nhlsc.com
haven't updated their site and www.nhlpa.com don't even have Neidermayer's
salary listed. The main issue at hand here is with the NHL is
that the Anaheim Ducks must first make Cap room on next season 2008-09 season
vice this year SC; therefore, in the eyes of the NHL Scott Neidermayer can't
resume playing until such SC room is made. How this affects the DASH, it is the fact; we
haven't covered the issue of a “SUSPENDED” player returning to play
status after few months into the regular season. If Scott Neidermayer can do
it in the same fashion as the likes of Roger Clements type strategy, thus
let’s skip the pre-season and return whenever a veteran NHLers feels like it
is in my opinion not right. Therefore, as per para 37 of the rules, the
ruling on this issue is that Scott Neidermayer’s salary will remain
unaccounted for until he resumes playing again and the NHL sorts themselves
out Should a team {in this instance
OTH} have a SC issue regarding a “SUSPENDED”, then the 7E 24 hours
ruling will then kicking at that time? Furthermore, there were NO implications
whatsoever on the standings or processes where we all had an evenly
opportunities to claim Scott Neidermayer including yours truly who dropped
him in the first place J.
Finally on this issue, as the Pool Administrator,
I will provide a future amendment for next year that will deals with this “potential”
issue where more and more NHLers pulls a Roger Clement strategy. Secondly, in
reference to next year SC ideology, I wouldn't mind if we all begin to give
some serious thoughts to what SC processes do we want as a League as there
are two legit options up for discussions: - The status quo; or - Russ’s idea of a SC based solely on past and
current player performances MTC. Thirdly, in
reference to this Holiday season, like last year our family will be heading
to BC and |

07-08/23 |
Although, I am not looking for any negative
issues at all, I take the DASH League is quietly cruising along with the
business at hand while teams are beginning to assess their needs and/or
wants. That said, in my continuous pursuit to make
available as much web info possible, I am pleased to inform you that the
“FAP availability” web page now includes daily Yahoo
stats for which I try to download/upload them daily. I still have to
manually add a few more NHLers; however, the page itself is lengthy and
one must scroll down to get all. As
far the goalies goes, they are tag at the end and sorted by PTS as the goalies
stats includes the current formulas. Here's the reference web link: http://geocities.com/ybrunet@rogers.com/Hockey/fapsavailability.htm In addition, let's plan ahead here, that I
am planning to be away for two weeks again at Christmas/New Year in
BC and Seattle. More to follow! |
11/17/2007 17:12:42 |
07-08/22 |
Unless I am away, the regular season stats
are now uploaded daily; therefore, I just want to inform all teams that
"daily transactions and FAP availability pages" will
continue to be uploaded as I process them. However, with my new
download and macros processes, any additions and/or player deletions
will be reflected the individual team pages the following day ONLY. |
11/14/2007 07:14:48 |
07-08/21 |
As you know by now, the stats are now available
online and does include last night games. More importantly and
requested features, the FAP availability are now automatically available
on each individual team pages. In addition, on the right end side of
your own team's page, you'll now see next year draft picks only
where the upper ones being OUTGOING {ones traded away} and
the one's below as being INCOMING {acquired through trades}. With
times these draft picks annotate in a lighter color will also include a
comment option referring to the appropriate transactions. Unfortunately until
later tonight the HOME Page link {back
to web home page in blue} isn't working. Finally, the MENU
button is for me only and internal usage with Excel. |
11/04/2007 16:14:24 |
07-08/20 |
It’s finally here - Daily statistics via
Yahoo downloads and Excel uploads through a series of macros is now
with us. This has been a project of mine to provide all teams with
accurate and available daily stats as this was the only important phase
missing to complete the DASH Web activities. I
must acknowledge first the contributions of Chris, Steve L and
Russ' detailed knowledge of Excel and without their support in
solving some debugging; I would still be at the drawing table as Excel
is complex and proven to be a very good challenge. Thanks guys!!
Sorry, no additional FAPs or PTS here :). Few points here - One being that team hyperlinks on the main regular
and/or playoffs standings web pages are in relation to MS Excel and to
return to the main home page, please do as before by just browsing the Home
Page link. As far the sorting capabilities within each team rosters,
it’s primarily by PTS and if tie exists between more than two players,
then it’s sorted by goals. In
addition, also built in and programmed, is "if" your team
overall SC goes over by $1, the color of that cell will go from red to green.
For
the time being, on a weekly basis, we will continue to use Russ’ weekly
update to monitor the two and more importantly to ensure neutrality and
accuracy of data. Therefore,
unless I am unavailable for one reason or another regular season stats
will publish daily likely after work. |
10/29/2007 20:48:24 |
07-08/19 |
All
the Web site pages including standings have been updated and uploaded. This
week, I have also updated all NHLers
who meets the NHL ROOKIE prerequisites. Just
a short footnote, please make sure that you carry out all of your checks and
balances prior to submitting a claim for a FAP. Once a request for a
FAP is received and uploaded online, I can't turn the clock
backward. Therefore, all preliminary footwork’s are the individual team
owner responsibilities first. |
10/22/2007 20:02:04 |
07-08/18 |
Just
a short note to inform you that all the Web site pages including standings
have been updated and uploaded. This week stat excludes the latest FAPs
including one Waiver Draft claim by Octopuses. In
addition, we've have adjusted some salaries and there are no teams over
the SC. Furthermore, {observation only}, there are some obvious IR
possibilities out there and it is the individual team responsibility to
inform me on adding a player on IR. |
10/15/2007 20:47:35 |
07-08/17 |
Thanks
to Russ and I've posted the latest standings and team stats for your review
and ongoing competitive hedge. For 8
teams, you will notice your online roster might differ with
Russ’ stats that are normal, as we try from across the ocean to work out some
data corrections. By next week, these issues should be resolved. |
10/07/2007 09:14:26 |
07-08/16 |
I've
updated to list of available "NHL Rookie stats" and it is
from the NHL Web site. This list will be updated on a regular
basis. In addition, the "2008 Final Draft Selections"
has also been finalized and uploaded. Yep, looking back there's been
some "interesting" picks made
and good luck to all. That said, the DASH site is now fully updated and
operational. http://geocities.com/ybrunet@rogers.com/Hockey/rookiestatus.htm http://geocities.com/ybrunet@rogers.com/Hockey/thisyeardraft.htm http://geocities.com/ybrunet@rogers.com/Hockey/index.htm {Home

10/06/2007 07:35:21 |
07-08/15 |
I've
updated to list of available "Free Agents" {FAP} to the best
of my knowledge. This list will be updated on a regular basis. Again, if
you think we should have more names, and then please forward them to me. In
addition, the "Daily Transactions" log has been uploaded and
now fully operational and to date, there's been a trade and few FAPs made.
The one-year players tracking, trade statistics and yearly e-mail
updates have also been updated and uploaded. For 1919 Gen Strike - Thank you for your online comments in our Forum. |
10/03/2007 20:35:29 |
07-08/14 |
Just
a short note to inform you that all except one have been uploaded.
Player’s salaries including those who have been sent back to AHL or
Junior teams have all been re-adjusted accordingly. I will
post the few FAPs tomorrow as I have other issues to take care
of tonight. Rookies are annotated in red. I
will now focus on all other web pages and all should updated by week end with
the transactions one tomorrow evening. Again this year, please make good
mileage of the comment forum. |

Firstly,
thanks for your support last night and hopefully you are satisfy with your
picks. Perhaps, we can collectively find a way to speed up the draft process? That
said, please find attached the first Excel worksheet from last
night draft for your review and concurrence. Before,
I can go ahead with the next step of publishing it all, I need to clarify
three points, one being some teams are over the SC and all MUST not
exceed $64.3M by the time the regular season begins on this side of the
pound. Secondly, some salaries are still showing despite players cuts being
made/finalized. Finally and thirdly, I need each team to reply to me
soonest stating that you individually agree with team
composition see {07-08 Rosters - Column G}. Once that is
confirmed by all, then, I will action and post FAPs. For Snipers - Following verification, you are okay at 25. Therefore,
do you still want to draft Mike Ribeiro with your 16th pick, thus costing you
a FAP? |
09/24/2007 20:08:08 |
07-08/12 |
Here's
the latest draft Excel worksheet for this Saturday draft which
includes the most up to date list of available Free Agents including
high touted rookies. Although, some don't like it, the usage of
the row serial numbers is highly recommended as I see this as a time saving
for all. I am also including last year 2006-07 Excel file for your own
usage that includes final player stats. The list of available of
Free Agents is sorted in alphabetical order. For
those who haven't got an idea how to get to my place, please let me know or
use the mapping capabilities of Goggle. Again, my address is 622 Tourelle
Drive In Orleans. Again, draft begins at 1830 hours. Reminder
that last minute roster changes will not be permitted beyond 2300
hours this Friday 28th. |
09/17/2007 17:16:24 |
07-08/11 |
From
Russ’ other pools and it does make logical sense with a slight twist on my
part - Please note, I am permitting changes to
all protected lists right up until 2300 hours
Friday night 28 Sep 07. There is no reason
anyone should be stuck with a player whose retired or gets a major
injury during training camp. That's the main reason for allowing
changes. I'm not allowing last minute changes at
the draft as I want to begin drafting at 1830 hours 29 Sep 07. In my
opinion, if we are not 100% by Friday night the 28th, then we will never
be. Hopefully, it is acceptable to all. Four other admin points: -
I will go over the list of potential new NHLers and update the Excel file by
end week; however, I won't change the current list just add to it. -
From Underdogs - Once season starts, please direct all trade offers to {SEE
E-MAIL} ONLY. -
From the PA - Please remove Snipers' work e-mail address Martin.AD@Forces.gc.ca from
your address book as he's no longer serving with the Forces. -
My MSN account for the draft is {SEE E-MAIL}. |

07-08/10 |
Please
find attach the final Protection List for all teams including available draft
able players. This is the first draft cut which includes NHLers
that have either retired or signed with European
teams. Furthermore, the online rosters now reflects protect
able players only plus accurate Salary Cap salaries. Please
let me know soonest of any errors or omissions with your individual Web
page. In addition, please let me know if your online e-mail address is
accurate for all others to contact you. If not, please provide me
with an up to date one. |
09/15/2007 10:44:32 |
07-08/09 |
To
date, I've received 14 protection lists out of 15 and the last team has been
notified separately via e-mail. I've updated 14 team web pages, and
I will upload online once the last team PL is received. With the
upload, I will also send you the most up to date team rosters and list of
available Free agents via Excel. Again, the SC
for the upcoming season is $64.3M. Unfortunately,
there was a last minute misunderstanding on a trade issue between two teams.
Again, please "if necessary" familiarized yourselves with
the rules including the new ones. If a team feels a need to
challenge an article or a form of "unfairness",
then I will use discretionary judgment and deal with it. Regarding
the draft on the 29th, there will more information to follow. Best of
luck with your draft preparations. For Polar Bears - As requested, the rules and all other information is
available through the DASH Web site. |

Just
a quick reminder that we have about one week left before the trading
deadline. Trade deadline is Saturday 15 Sep 07
at 1800 hrs EST. Protected lists to me NLT 2200 hrs same day. I will compile all the
protections and publish all online shortly thereafter. Draft Date is Saturday 29 Sep 07 at
1800 hrs as Underdogs is on the clock to make the first pick
at 1830 hrs
{6:30 PM} at my place. For those who won't be attending,
please let me know soonest as I'm assuming you will be on MSN? Therefore,
please let me know of your MSN e-mail addresses and I will make sure you're
added to my list so I may generate a conference type arrangement. "Personally
here", the idea of someone else's drafting for you is not recommended. |
08/15/2007 04:57:06 |
07-08/07 |
Please
find the latest 2007-08 Excel worksheet for your general information and
action as you see fit. Am
also including a worksheet for the upcoming draft as an
additional workable tool. This added tool was developed by Russ
{stats guru} and the idea is to use this while the draft is going on so
I know how much I can spend on players all the way through the draft.
You just enter the player's name, team and salary in the applicable spots and
the $$ remaining automatically do their magic. The cell to the
left of "enter" Potential Pick Salary (F39 I believe) is where you
enter the salary of the pick you are thinking about and it will tell you how
much average salary you can spend if you make that pick. Should there be any
questions; feel free to contact Russ directly. **Reminders** Trade deadline is Saturday 15 Sep 07
at 1800 hrs EST. Protected lists to me NLT 2200 hrs same day. I will compile
all the protections and publish all online shortly thereafter. Draft Date is Saturday 29 Sep 07 at
1800 hrs as Underdogs is on the clock to make the first pick
at 1830 hrs {6:30 PM} at my
place. For those who won't be attending, please let me know as I'm assuming
you will be on MSN? If so, will confirm MSN e-mail addressees later
on. "Personally here", the idea of someone else's drafting for
you is not recommended... More to follow on the draft. |

Please
attach the latest manual/online backup database for your information/action
as you see fit. So far the summer League activities is unfolding quite
nicely and we understand that Poolmaster as so far gone missing in action !!!
I've
added a new web link to track all player movement {one year rule}: http://geocities.com/ybrunet@rogers.com/Hockey/oneyeartradingrule.htm Regarding
teams Summer availabilities, you'll also find three teams that have entered
their vacations dates so we'll know why some teams are not responding. |
07/16/2007 21:47:44 |
07-08/05 |
As
per update # 4, and exceptionally for this upcoming season I am arbitrarily
lifting the trade embargo with an increase of $4M to the initial $60.3M SC. Therefore, the SC for the upcoming
season will now read $64.3M. A more detailed explanation on the
bonuses aspect is also attached to this update for your information. I've
taken the time to re-work the numbers with always keeping in mind the
best interests of the DASH League without inadvertently penalizing
the teams whether or not they are at the top or bottom standings,
without penalizing teams who carried top end NHLers with front loaded
contracts or team with high draftees who haven't played a single game
prior to have been given proper notice or time to adjust as I'm sure many of
us have put efforts and times in drafting or trading for talents. Here are
some working details why I arrived at $64.3M
SC are: Initial
DASH SC was set at $60.3M; Total
DASH salaries is $934,965,808 for an overall average of $62.3; Estimated
'07-08 NHL Bonuses is $31.2M; There
are also 21 upcoming NHL Arbitration cases to be heard; X
number of unsigned Free Agents still left; Unknown
small fudge factor is also included; and To
keep the competitive edge in play. I
grant, we have a lot of number crunchers in this pool and we all know
numbers can be interpretation in many ways!!! I took one and feel all right
with it. As an aside, it will give more weight to the usage of FAPs. Honestly,
there is no magic or perfect formula in a CAP pool except perhaps where one
we can be customized i.e. Russ' "Performance Based Salary
Formula". As far Russ' formula goes, I will bring to
a full motion later to implement it prior to the 2008-09 season as this is
quite innovative and definitely worth moving forward with. However, in the
mean time you will notice that I have added a new "NON-FACTOR"
column to your online roster to "artificially" track Russ'
data and this will come as news to Russ himself that the proposed working SC
should be $375? More to follow throughout the season! Should
there be disagreement with the new SC, please direct them directly to me
and I will be happy to respond. That said, please keep in mind the
Spirited intent of the DASH League. Thank
you for your patience and time. Now let's make deals!!!!!!! Pool
Administrator PS:
Once again, am noticing some are using out dated e-mail addresses and as an
example I seen today that Snipers old e-mail was used and should now read alan_martin@rogers.com with
an underscore too. |
07/15/2007 16:35:47 |
07-08/04 |
Exceptionally,
for the time being trading is suspended pending an in dept
review of next season SC number is clearly identify so we all know what
these factors are first. It shouldn't take more than 48 hours as
this "old geezer" needs to work the numbers diligently. You
may review your online team as I have 5 teams left to update/upload. |
07/15/2007 07:43:08 |
07-08/03 |
Based
on the overwhelming responses to date, and for this upcoming and last year we
will adopt the "Team SC Hit/Number" concept as per the NHL Teams
{$50.3} where like the NHL, the DASH SC is now set at $60.3 is also team
SC orientated and does include ALL NHLers bonuses. If
we go on the assumptions that we average salaries as they are team
orientated, we must also realized there is an equally shocking opposite
to them and you may view them for yourselves and suffice to write
there will be surprises for all 15 DASH Teams including yours
truly. As usual, please do your homework prior to finalizing any
trades as the true salary values might be a factor especially the top
end NHLers including ALL
rookies. May
I suggest that with time this summer, you acquaint yourselves with the
following web link http://www.nhlscap.com/teamnumbers.htm as
it will now be the DASH League working tool vice the NHLPA Compensation" is
individually orientated. Therefore, I'm closing the SC Pandora box
now as we need to focus on the spirit of the pool {Thanks Chris}. That
said, our stats guru Russ has come up with an innovative "Performance
Based Salary Formula" project for next season {2008-09} for
which I will assist him to parallel/simultaneously incorporated on a
trial basis with ours this year so we may assign a measurable team
SC numbers. Personally, I’m truly fascinated with the idea as I’ve
seen his proto-type and it does make practical and cap senses. That said, I am always impressed with those
who Excel with spreadsheets and/or databases.
As far the nuts/bolts and the mechanics of Russ’ “Performance
Based Salary Formula” idea goes, the details will be coming out
separately. Please, be
RE-ASSURED,
this will not require any additional work on your part as this will be a
Russ/Yvon project. To the contrary, we will continue to provide you with all
the working and necessary data. As
results, for testing purposes, you will likely see an additional {NON-FACTOR}
online column on all 15 DASH Teams. In
the meantime, beginning today, I will re-work all the online team sheets and
the manual database to reflect the above-mentioned NHLers salary changes
including Russ' raw $$$ data as a {NON-FACTOR}. So far, I've
done 1919 Gen Strike and Destroyers already this morning and hopefully I will
get them all done today. Again, all salaries will be re-confirmed prior to
the start of the 2007-08 season. |
07/07/2007 16:50:57 |
07-08/02 |
Unfortunately,
due to the "unforeseen"/"unpredictable" NHLers business
practices where financially resourceful teams i.e. The New York,
Philadelphia and Colorado have "FRONT LOADED" several
contracts on top end and more recently yesterday Thomas Vanek where he went
from $940,800 to $10M a year. As
a result, the NHL teams' average doesn't reflect individual contracts
where we in the DASH are like NHL team SC orientated. Additionally, as
an example Vanek's seven years' contract duration with Therefore,
I'm seeking your “UNANIMOUS APPROVAL” on this practical common
sense in tracking NHLers' salaries as this affect up to seven teams in
the DASH. Unfortunately, for one team, it began last year with the Bryan
McCabe's contract and I should have been in a position to see it coming
then. If
the one team is against, then the attach detail motion will
be implemented prior to the start of the 2008-09 season. The
detail motion and WEB links are on the attachment for your review. As
you know, beginning tomorrow I will be away; therefore, I will see the
results and advise you as soon they are available. PS: A yes or no will suffice! |

Happy
Canada, Being
July 1st,
the DASH League is now in its 4th year of operation and TRADE
activity is now “officially” open for the upcoming 2007-08 season. Please
re-acquaint yourself with paragraph # 30 {TRADES} of the rules amendments as
changes were made and approved. Am
also enclosing the latest MS Excel 07-08 worksheet for your own general usage
and I'll continue to update with accurate data. All WEB files and links have also been
updated and uploaded. Please
bear in mind that I will be away for the 8 – 14 July 07 and as per usual all traded
will be action and posted chronologically upon my return. If
possible, please make maximum usage of the WEB comments forum to pass
information to all others. Lastly, please let me know soonest of any MS Excel
or WEB pages errors or omissions. Again,
best wishes for a good pre-season and summer.
To our two new partners {Polar Bears & Rented Mules} welcome and
enjoy the DASH League. PS
1: With all payments received on time, I wish to thank all for meeting
the deadline. PS
2: For Underdogs - As you two are
in partnership, please let all teams know up front who will be the sole
spoke person as we should be aware to whom to direct our queries to? PS
3: Protection List of 8 + 2 will likely be due Sunday 16 September 2007. |

06-07/51 |
The
lottery draw was held this evening and the results including the draft order
excluding trades has been posted on the Web comments Forum. To date, I
anticipate resuming all DASH League activities as schedule 1st July 2007
as long everyone's has paid in full. The
four teams who haven't paid yet have been notified/reminded
separately. Lastly the NHL have yet to announced the Cap for next
season and as you all know ours is 10M over theirs. |

06-07/50 |
Just
to inform all the teams that all WEB pages have been uploaded for the 2007-08
season including up-to-date NHLers’ salaries. As far salaries goes,
there're surprised as some shows significant increases and some others shows
decreases. Polar Bears plus Rented Mules team logos and their respective
e-mails have also been updated. In
addition, all the approved rules have also been uploaded and please let
me know throughout the summer if there are any discrepancies, errors or
omissions. You'll also note that I have chosen Saturday 29 September
2007 at 1800 for 1830 hours for the draft to be held {more to
come}. Therefore, plenty of time to plan and more importantly not wanting
to interfere with Russ' two other pools. Exceptionally,
this year lottery will be held Saturday 23rd June 07 as Russ will be in
Ottawa and at my place that day; therefore, the winning lottery team
will be announced on the comment WEB page shortly thereafter. Again,
baring any unforeseen, the DASH League activities will begin its 4th season
on July 1st and once all teams have paid first. |

Please
find attach a one page detailed Word document for your information
plus two Excel files for your summer usages. Unlike other
pools, next year fees are due to me no later than 30
June 07. We will begin the 2007-08 operations on 01 July 07 with the lottery draw. As
NHLers movements including new signings take place, I will update the 2007-08
Excel file and WEB Site accordingly throughout the summer. |

Clarification
of PS 1 to update 47. Based on the following, paragraph 15 of
the rules are not clear and can easily be misinterpreted either way.
More importantly the NHL, Yahoo and TSN plus others are not tracking
PLAYOFFS OTL PTS and we weren't tracking for the first two rounds
either. Therefore, I
have decided to rule against awarding PLAYOFFS OTL PTS for the third and
final rounds and be consistent throughout the playoff season and with the
download process from Yahoo. The few PTS out there are very few and
"likely" to make no differences to the current and final standings.
It’s also unfair for Russ {our stats guru} to be put in unfair situation
having to manually input playoffs OTL PTS. Therefore, I will take
the heat "if any". It will sure be cleared next year on forward. For
those teams who are in all other pools, this only applies to the DASH League
only and I will let Russ deal with his. |

06-07/47 |
References:
DASH rules paragraphs 10 and 15 Included
below is Russ' OTL e-mail dealing directly with his two pools and
inadvertently parallel to the DASH and Mooseheads pools
respective. Although, the issue deals solely with the playoff
OTLs, I wish to recommend the following as a new serial 18 of the
proposed rules as this issue was raised by two teams in various pools that
needs to be addressed separately. Background: At
the present time Regular Season Wins + Ties + Shutouts are weighted as
follows: Wins are worth 2 PTS, Ties are worth 1 PTS and Shutouts are worth 3
PTS. As far the playoffs goes, OTL although written in our rules the
NHL and other official sites doesn't track OTL as they play
until winners are decided. Therefore, to be accurate, it is just the
Wins and Shut Outs that are counted. Currently, Russ {The stats guru}
manually tracks playoffs OTL. As far the playoffs GAA goes, in all pools
GAA are excluded. Proposal: Beginning next
season, we adopt/emulate the NHL and other official stats sites to
clarify and determine the regular and playoffs seasons goalies' PTS excluding
the GAA as this isn't an issue. <Goalies'
regular season points are to be weighted as follow: Wins are worth 2 x PTS, {OT and/or Shoot Out (SO) Losses are worth 1 x PTS
regular season only}
and Shutouts are worth 3 x PTS. No points are to be awarded for goalies
goals or assists or PIMs.> <Goalies'
playoffs season points are to be weighted as follows: Wins are worth 2 x
PTS and Shutouts are worth 3 x PTS. No points are to be awarded
for goalies goals or assists or PIMs.> This
proposal is simple, right to the point and easy tracking including
downloading for the stats guru; therefore, solution to any potential issues
that might come up as we would emulate as much as possible ourselves to the
NHL, Yahoo and TSN stats. PS
1: This will not affect
whatsoever this year playoff stats /standings as we will conclude as such. PS
2: OT and/or Shoot Out (SO) Losses is
define through the www.NHL.com/stats Like
Russ, I will too have to seek some professional advices from the league lawyers!!! -------Original Message------- There
is an issue that needs to be discussed immediately (because it's so late in
the playoffs). Earlier, it was brought to my attention that Yahoo Stats
were not tracking OTL (overtime losses). I read our rules and
thought about it and decided that it met the criteria for an overtime
loss. I just realized that not everyone may share my opinion and
thought that I should give everyone the chance to tell me if they disagree
with counting OTL point in the playoffs. The
problem I saw was that our rules don't define what an overtime loss
is. It doesn't say that in the playoffs overtime losses don't
count. It doesn't say that they do count. Nowhere does it say
that we get two points for a win because your team gets two points and for an
overtime loss your team gets one point. That may have been the idea
behind the point structure, but how do you figure out shutouts - teams don't
get points for them, but our goalies do. And in the playoffs, you don't get
two points for a win either. I
can see definitely see both sides of the argument in this case. What
constitutes an overtime loss? Unfortunately our rules don't further define it
and points can be equally argued on both sides. This is a rule
interpretation to me; we are NOT changing any rules, just trying to figure
out how to apply it. My
recommendation is that we count the OTL points this year and clean up the
wording for next season with more descriptive wording. If you disagree
with my recommendation, feel free to reply - I will address everyone's
email. If you don't email me back I will assume there is no
issue. Excuse me now; I must go consult my lawyer! |

Except
for Fly casters for which I re-send the final version earlier today of
the proposed rules for next year. I just want to remind you 6 x teams that
you have a week left to submit your Yes/No votes only without added comments
so I may finalized all and for all of us take a breather or two in

Please
find attached the "Final Rules Proposals" for
the 2007-08 seasons. These are submitted to you for a "YES/NO"
answer on serials # 1A, 1B, 2, 3, 9, 10, 12, 13,
15, 16, and 17 only {serials are
Orange colored} without a need for additional comments as all other
serials were unanimously approved 15 to 0. The returns
are required no later than Friday 27
May 07. Your promptness would be much appreciated. I sincerely
thank those who took the time to provide me with positive and detailed
feedbacks and ideas are including those against. All comments were
seriously looked at and considerations given to see if there was a way
to make them fit and have on few without changing the philosophical direction
of the DASH League. However, in the end like other processes,
sometimes we just can't meet all teams’ expectations at
ounce. I
have taken the liberty to include all comments in the remarks column. The
comments could potentially persuade/influence others as one’s opinion can be
seen from a different perspectives and/or views of others. Therefore, I think these
are positive and pro-active serials here. As far serial # 1 goes, based on comments
received I have divided that serial into A & B. Please take your
time to review all 9 pages including all comments received. As
usual I am available to clarify and/or answer any serials queries
one might have. For the record, I have included all comments
received. As
far expanding this upcoming season to date I can confirm with 12 returns out
of 15, there will be no expansion as we required 100%
unanimous approval as the vote currently stands at 10 for 2 against and
3 unanswered. Finally,
the goal is to let everyone know of the final voting results and other pool
related activities by Sunday 17 June 06
or earlier if all votes are received. |

Although,
am still waiting for two returns on the Discussion paper results,
following the end of the 2nd round I will forward to all for a final
review and vote. I can inform you there're up to 7 serials
that were unanimously agreed upon and will be automatically implemented. That
said, this update is to specifically deal with two of the agreed serials -
Point in case, serials 8 and 9 dealing with Expansion for 2008-09.
There was one comment that we should expand prior to the start
of next Hockey season vice 2008-09 to 16 teams. Therefore, just a YES or NO
on your part would suffice to whether or not we should expand prior to the
start of the next season or per the DP wait until the 2008-09 seasons to
expand. As this represents a major shift, we need
100% unanimous approval. If yes, then the agreed amended expansion rules would apply in its entirety this Jun/Jul except that the new "franchise" would draft next following the lottery teams {5th overall} and once the new team is fully stocked would be permitted to fully participated in all League activities in July. The
interested individual on the standby list is from Vancouver, BC and diehard
Vancouver Canuck fan and knowledgeable of the game. If
the above is ambiguous, please let me know and I will clear any issues first. |

With
regards to the "Discussion Paper" on the propose rule
amendments for next season, there's only a few weeks left to submit the
document back with your comments if any. To date, I have received those
from Destroyers, Silver 7s and Old Time Hockey only. It shouldn't take
longer than 15 minutes or less to fill a YES or NO with comments
suffices. In turn, I need time to review and if necessary work
compromises, then return to you for a full vote and update the web rules. That
said, just to let you know, Russ and I are separately working on
updating all data worksheets for July 1st that will have all "Estimated" player
salaries for next year, final regular season stats updated and others
for you so you may begin to roll on July 1st. As an example, the 10 or
so Buffalo Sabres players will be identified as either being UFA
{Unrestricted Free Agent} or RFA {Restricted Free Agent}, so we can all
plan/guess accordingly. Your
continuous support is much appreciated. If you need the document in
question, please let me know, and I will re-send to you again. For OTH, Destroyers and Silver 7s - For your information and thanks
for your submissions |

Just
to let you all know, there's been some comments on the proposed rules
amendments posted under the online
Forum already. I must agree, it's a very
good idea / initiative by whomever wants to express their views, in
order to stimulate the overall discussion. Perhaps, some of you have
good arguments for or against certain serials. |

06-07/37 |
Perhaps,
you will have noticed on the e-mail addressees the names of our two new
partners. Both were included as this will directly
implicate/involve them next year. That
said, am pleased to officially welcome both Roch Larouche and Dave Alburger
as full fledge partners for the 2007-08 season and both will begin operations
01 July 2007. As
far Roch {Gatineau} goes, many
know this fine poolie from Russ' pools and will brings much to the table and
yes, he's another tough negotiator. To date, Roch hasn't officially
re-named his new team as his taken over Mezzy's Cementheads. As
far Dave {Ottawa} goes, am told
he's well versed and very knowledgeable of the game of hockey. Dave
comes highly recommended from Dan Lyons and Dave's new team will be known as
"Puckhead", formerly known as Wings Fan 28 and motto himself
to John Muckler {Kidding Dave}. Best
of luck to both new partners and the lions are waiting for you two!! |

Please
find attached our annual discussion paper on
upcoming new/amended rules proposals for the 2007-08 season for
your, consideration and comments. That said, requests your
non-voting comments prior to mid-May
07, so I may in turn finalize all proposals and voted in prior
to end of the playoffs so we may begin activities on 1st July 07.
Therefore, take your time and enjoy the reading while this year NHL playoffs
are on. This 4 page table document is in a legal size format. Once
all comments received, I will combine them and re-submit them back to
you for a final vote where “75% or 11 franchises" is require to
implement. My
preferences, is for all to have a break from all activities for a few
weeks and resume activities 01
July 07 with the lottery draw. Furthermore, by 30 June 07, all 15 franchises must have
paid in full. The
current standby list comprises of 1 x interested individual from Vancouver,
BC for might join as a "potential expansion" for the 2008-09 season if we wish? Generalities: -
Few serials are just housekeeping in nature and they've been identified
as such; - The intents here, is to continue to move the yard-sticks forward and hope you will see these proposals from the League point of view rather than our own team interests. These proposals are solely based on trends, observations and comments received throughout this past season. Therefore, lots went into them and in return, I am just asking that you take your time and respond to them accordingly; - As
per the NHL, I truly see the need to maintain the “Injury Reserve
{IR}” list; however, this time I'm proposing a simpler twist to
it and much easier to manage by us owners and me as
administrator. Therefore, based on comments received throughout the
year, am advancing the idea to relax the flexibility from 23 - 27 vice 25 - 27 maximum skaters as non-starters
including up to 2 IRs vice 1.
What I am just suggesting here, are equitable and workable
solutions to better the pool and make maximum usages of the IR option as
NHLers' injuries are just part of the game and often to key players; and - There
are two main focus this year, one being beginning with 2008-09 season, is a draft
proposal option where the total money-earners would get slotted later in
the 1st round and have all non-money teams participate in the
lottery. In order, to emphasize this idea, we would similarity adopt
what the NHL just approved. The other focus is the idea to put more
calculated thoughts and values on our trades. Although, I
enjoy trading, the goal of this pool wasn't just trading for the sake of
trading. More like increase our strategic prowess and negotiating skills
with folks we don't normally see day to day with the ultimate goal to
finish at the top of the earning heaps.
Finally,
on a positive side, excluding this year’s playoffs, out of 15 Franchises and
over the past 3 x years of operations, we've seen 10 x franchises money
winners to date; I guess “statistically” it isn't that
bad! In addition, our League Web site has attracted close to
15,600 hits {big thanks}. The ultimate online goal is the ability
to download stats daily so various stats pages would get automatically
updated {Perhaps, we can convince Russ to retire yearly or perhaps me
LOL!!}. |

Thanks
to Russ, the online updated stats have been uploaded. In addition, just an
add-on to note 1 of my update 06-07/34 concerning FAPs between the
period of 2 - 16 Apr 07 or less. Perhaps, my brain got ahead of me
here. Thanks to a team, I wish to clarify that teams may make
playoff FAPs; however, they'll be chronologically processed in order of
priority and post. In
addition, a few teams have been notified separately already that it’s
becoming increasingly important to ensure that all of our active rosters are
indicative of our best possible rosters as this will have draft positioning
and final standing implications. Again, "if this applies to
you", please just let Russ know via e-mail of any changes. |
03/15/2007 9:51:42 |
06-07/34 |
I
received an e-mail last night from an owner wanting confirmation on both FAPs
& Final Roster Deadlines. Therefore, here it is as this applies to the
DASH League only where as Russ will address his in due time. Regular Season FAP and Final Roster Timeline Activities will begin 2 weeks {26 Mar 07} prior to the final release of the NHL regular season stats, thus
allowing for some regular season roster fine tuning and mainly for transparency
as this will allow each individual team to begin filtering regular season
roster's as follows: - 26 Mar 07 - Monday
– 2nd last opportunity to drop players from existing rosters and 2nd last
opportunity to claim a {WD} via e-mail requests; - 02 Apr 07 - Monday 2000 hours – Final opportunity to drop player's from existing roster's and last opportunity to claim
a {WD}; - 02 Apr 07 - Monday 2000 hours – Final opportunity to claim your last Regular Season FAPs; - 09 Apr 07 -
Monday 1800 hours – The WD claim's “IF ANY” will be awarded; - 09 Apr 07 - Monday 1800
hours – Final opportunities to activate player movements from ACTIVE or/to BENCHED status respectively, that will ultimately show on Tuesday following the publications
of the official NHL statistics; and **As far my own rosters goes, I will send it to Russ directly on
the weekend prior** - Final Regular Season Standings and Winners will be published 16 Apr 07
or few days earlier.
Note 2: Playoff FAPs and final
opportunities to place your last FAPs for the playoffs is NLT 1800 hours 1 day prior to the 1st
Stanley Cup Final game being played. Please
let me know if there are any issues with the above! |

The
following new Web page has been created/added and now
reflects a general overview and insight of all the trades and patterns
that have occurred during the season. Again, this page is in general
information in nature and references only: http://geocities.com/ybrunet@rogers.com/Hockey/tradestatistics.htm Again,
just a general reminder of paragraphs 12 and 13 of the
rules as this could "potentially" affects a few teams
with drafting consequences. **Upcoming
Reminder** Perhaps, you might want to begin familiarizing
yourself with our upcoming "Reg Season Final Roster Timeline
Activities" {Para 14 refers}. Again,
we can't have our statistician having to worry who should be active and/or
benched as there are some obvious ones to be made for
sure. Please, feel free at anytime to let Russ know via an e-mail
and am sure he will be happy to make the necessary changes on your behalf. |

The
following new Web page has been created/added and now reflects all
e-mail updates that were generated during Hockey season for references and
transparencies: http://geocities.com/ybrunet@rogers.com/Hockey/dashupdates.htm In
addition, as you we are well aware of by now, we are loosing two partners
after the playoffs and both have been adequately replaced by both Roch
Larouche and soon TBC {Dave Alburger} who will begin operation 1st
July 2007. That said, both will participate in rules amendments/changes
for the 2007-08 season as this will affect them. However, from now
until the completion of the playoffs both Mezzy’s Cementheads and Wings’ Fan
28 will be sole spokesperson for their respective team. In
addition, we will likely add a yet “TBC” individual from Vancouver, BC
as first standby for a 2008-09 “potential” expansion. That
said, I have prepared the next set of rule changes/amendments for which like
last year will be sent at season end for your review, discussion and final
vote prior to the playoffs ending. I can advance that some are
“interesting” and many are just housekeeping. |

With
the our trade deadline now pass, I can now officially inform you that Tony
Mezenberg known as Mezzy’s Cementheads has decided while back to leave the
DASH League so he can focus his time to his young family and couple other
pools as too many was just that too many. In
addition, to my surprised and disappointment, I received 10 minutes
following the trade deadline Terry MacIntyre known as Wings Fan 28’s
resignation’s statement <QUOTE> After considerable deliberation, I
have decided to give up the hockey pools, after the playoffs. I waited until
after the deadline to tell you, to ensure all trades we properly executed and
whoever takes over my teams is getting a decent team - Terry <UNQUOTE>. To
date, am pleased to announce that Roch Larouche { As
far, Terry goes, am hopeful he will re-consider as like
Tony is an excellent and contributing poolie. I am actually
thankful for Terry’s “unofficial” rules cop who brought positive issue to the
front and different angles to where we wanted to be today. In the event
that Terry doesn’t return, I will give first crack opportunity to Dan Lyons
first as he’s currently acting as half of the “Dogs” team. Should
Dan decide to go for it; he will then like Roch take over Wings Fan 28 on 01 July 2007. If not, am open to
new partners and if anyone of you know someone very well, perhaps
these individuals can reach me and I will take it from there. As you can see there’s a very interesting race shaping up between the top three teams with 1919 Gen Strike set for forth. The playoffs should be wide open. For Terry and Tony Mezenberg - We wish the both of
you well in future endeavors’ and wish to thank the both of
you for your positive and active participations. Please keep in mind the
DASH League is open to re-join should there be further openings. |

Thanks
to Russ {League’s statistician} who returned from his vacations early
this morning {Norway’s time zone} took the time to update the 4 x pools
stats including this one. That said, all Web pages have been fully
updated including current NHL players being traded. Therefore, the stats
should help you decide whether or not you need to make “any” moves prior to
our trade deadline Wednesday 28 Feb 07 at
2200 hours 24 hours after the NHL ones. I
also want to thank those teams who took the time to make entries in the
online Forum on their availabilities including the latest being
Poolmaster. Again,
as a couple of teams have queried, there is no expansion for the upcoming
season as Roch Larouche will take over an existing team after the
playoffs. Therefore, our upcoming protection list will be 8 + 2. |

The
following DASH League Rookie Status Web page has been modified and now
reflects the reality on all our rookies. I have only listed the
top 60 forwards/defensemen plus all current rookie goaltenders: http://geocities.com/ybrunet@rogers.com/Hockey/rookiestatus.htm Reminder
our trade deadline is Wednesday 28 Feb 07 at 2200 hours 24 hours after the NHL
ones. |

06-07/28 |
With
our league statistician being away on vacation, this week stats won’t be
available; however, the transactions log plus other pertinent pages have been
updated except for the rookie one for which I will try to update this evening
as there’s been some changes including additions and/or
amendments. In order to be sure, please review the rookie
portion on the www.NHL.com stats page. Reminder
our trade deadline is Wednesday 28 Feb 07 at 2200 hours. |
02/10/2007 10:22:00 |
06-07/27 |
As
per my update 06-07/25, and although the deadline to submit your expansion
views was set for Sunday 18 Feb 07,
I have received suffice replies {13} including one written resignation.
Therefore,
for preparation fairness to all and at the request of one partner plus
subject to confirmation of Roch’s desire to still join us, the expansion
plans as we knew it “will not” go forward for the upcoming
07-08 season. As a result, we will continue with 15 strong
competitive franchises. The
departing team and to be fair to that team’s request, I will not
divulged its entity until the past of the trade deadline as the team wants to
fairly compete until the conclusion of the regular season and playoffs. That
said, I wish to take this opportunity to thank all the teams for their
positive ideas and comments. Therefore, in my next set of rule
amendment proposals, I will proposed the following as this represent the
middle/blend options by all: The DASH League will not exceed 16 x teams at all
times; Expansion to be decided/voted 1 x full NHL
season prior to expansion taken place so all team have plenty of time to
plan accordingly; Each team will protect 6 x skaters only regardless of
positions; Each team will loose 1 x skater only; Expansion team will be granted an automatic 5 x FAPs to
fill his/her roster to a max of 20 {15 x draftees plus 5 x FAPs}; Expansion will draft 5th overall {next drafting
position following the lottery drawn teams}; and Expansion dates will remain unchanged where protections,
expansion draft itself and lottery draw will take place between the period of
the conclusion of the playoffs and 1 July xx. In
turn, this will provide all with clarity and at same a fair opportunity
for the expansion team to get off on a competitive footing. **There’s no need to neither vote now nor provide me with
comments as you already have**. Our opportunity to review and
vote will be during the upcoming NHL playoffs as this package proposals will
be submitted in its entirety. For Roch - We will be in touch early next month to
discuss/confirm. |

06-07/26 |
Just a short note to inform you that I will be away today in Kingston and returning late Thursday afternoon. Any trades or FAP requests will be action upon my return in a chronological order. Reminder:

reading further I am assuming all current 15 franchises will be returning for
2007-08 season? If not, “if” there’s one, please let me know soonest and we
will not proceed with an expansion. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As
per the current DASH Expansion rules {paragraphs 25-30 inclusive}, am
submitting to you a draft proposal for what we can anticipate taking
place for the upcoming expansion of 1 new team {Roch Larouche}
schedule for late June 07. Unlike
other pools, I wish to have it all agree upon prior to our trade
deadline {28 Feb 07} and
more importantly prior to submitting to Roch Larouche, so we may
all prepare ourselves accordingly. Admittedly,
I originally wrote the Expansion rules based on less than 15 teams;
therefore, as per paragraph 30 am submitting to you a more tailored expansion
rule proposals to better suit the DASH League. This is an oversight on
my part!!! Can someone please take me behind the barn and beat the day light
out of me; however, you must stand online first!!!! Please
take your time to review the attach document and submit any comments,
amendments or suggestions within the attach framework no later than Sunday 18 Feb 07 or earlier. In
turn, I will review them and if “warranty” incorporate them for a final
vote prior to Friday 23 Feb 07.
Again 75% {11 owners} of existing partners are in agreement. |

Just
a short update to let every team aware that I’ve added a new page link
under the pull down the League Activities menu calls {Injuries - Player
Status}. This should facilitate your direct accessibility to TSN
Injuries Web page as there’re quite a few key injuries. In
order to return to the DASH Home page, it suffices to click on your Internet
Explorer left arrow located at top left corner. |

06-07/23 |
As
per previous updates, here’s one for the category of reminder: With our
trade deadline fast approaching {2200 hrs
28 Feb 07} competitions and race for top spots including
playoffs is tough/tight. Therefore, all trades must fall under the
three approved categories {Paragraph 31 in its entirety of the DASH rules
refers}. Concerning
the Web site as all appears to be working just fine {except within DND}
with slightly over 10,730 recorded hits to date. Therefore, as
per update 06-07/13, beginning this month each teams will be charged $1 per
month to be paid at the same time as part of our yearly fees {i.e. $6
covering Jan through Jun plus $50 and then $12 for 07-08 season equaling
$68}. More to follow! **Important** - Unless from now to this June,
a partner decides to fold, we will have an expansion of 1 team {Roch
Larouche}; therefore, it is very important you acquaint yourselves with the
expansion rules and my update 06-07/01 dated 10 Sep 06 as it further refers.
That said, your upcoming dealing/trades must take account of
this important upcoming activity. With
regards to the IR issues, TSN has revamped their injury page and as Terry
stated in his web forum comments, it does simplify the comprehension of its
application. I sure encouraged all to make good usage of the IR. With
regards to rules amendments they will be handled in the same
fashion as last year. If any, please bring them forward and in
turn will be consolidated, then put them forward during the playoffs for your
review. I can tell you that I am looking at tweaking a few and/or
applying some logic/practicalities to few i.e. IR. That said, am
not expecting anything major. **Important** Finally, in support of Russ as
this will soon become an issue, we collectively must inform Russ Miller
of any amendments to our benched and active rosters as it isn’t fair to Russ
having to worry about who’s and who’s down. |

06-07/22 |
I’m
back, and so is the latest DASH League activities for which the site has been
fully updated this evening based on all the e-mails received throughout my
time away. As
far the stats themselves, they are as of 24 Dec 06 and will be
updated as soon as Russ returns from the World Junior Hockey Championship in
Sweden {Lucky Viking} sometime this weekend. For
those who made trades/FAPs after the 24th Dec, your roster is
updates less the overall stats and will be on the next set. |
12/17/2006 4:21:11 |
06-07/21 |
I
will be away on vacations from the period of 18 Dec 06 - 03 Jan 07 inclusive in Western
Canada and Seattle. Therefore, given two options one being to shut
the League down, I’ve opted to process all DASH League activities in
chronological order throughout my travel based on my wife “allowing me” to do so while
visiting families or between few drinks or two. That
way all teams may continue to make FAP requests and/or trades {using my hotmail account};
however, they will be processed on my Excel file using my travel memory stick
when time permit. Most importantly, while on vacations, if any, I will
post them on the “Comments Forum”.
Please for the period above, please use the following e-mail address nighthawks54@hotmail.com |

06-07/20 |
Overall,
at the quarter mark, despite few setbacks, I think the DASH League
is cruising right along including the WEB site has being totally functional.
Incidentally, to date the site has been hit a total 5,643 times {Thank you}. Concerning the rosters and the stats - Here’s a direct quote from
Russ’s e-mail earlier this evening while sending out the stats for all the 4
x pools: <QUOTE> If you want to move players up or down
on your rosters, please send me an e-mail telling me who’s going to the
active roster and who’s being deactivated. I don’t have time to manage
everyone’s teams, although I try to make the obvious switches.
<UNQUOTE>. Again, Russ is a very busy man in Norway and we are
very fortunate to have him do all the stats on our behalf and the least we
can do, it is to collectively inform him on our ups and/or
downs including yours truly. Therefore, if you do, please let me know and I
will happy to update your online team page. Finally
and lastly, with regards the “IR”, we will stay the course until the end
of the year where we will re-visit whether or not we keep it for the 2007-08
seasons and beyond. I can tell you right now, there will be
a motion comes forward to amend it. That said, I will add the first
part whether or not we keep the IR or eliminate it all together. Should
we decide to keep it, I can assure you right now, that there will be
some obvious, logic and practical adjustments. Therefore, for the time being
this issue is close, except it is the team responsibility not Russ
or me to put players on IR. |
11/07/2006 6:55:17 |
06-07/19 |
Under
“Authority/Rule changes” {See paragraph 36}, it states that any rule changes
during the season requires “unanimous” approval. As a result, as per my
last update # 18, there’s no unanimity. Therefore, I have no other
choice than to rescind the two proposed amendments. As
per paragraph 36, for those who have replied to last night update # 18
{thank you} and for those who haven’t yet, don’t bother replying. That
said, as per paragraphs 6 and 7F, the following teams with
rookies will see them listed $0. Again, www.NHLPA.com
is the sole authority for all player salaries. Although there’s perhaps
some ambiguity between paragraph 6 and Note 1, www.NHLPA.com data will
prevail. Therefore, the following teams with affected rookies will now
reflect $0 as they are not currently playing in the NHL: 1919
Gen Strike - Letang and Toews; Destroyers
- Immonen; Mezzy’s
Cementheads - Harding; Nighthawks
- Radulov, E. Johnson; Octopuses
- MA. Ouellet; Old
Time Hockey - Rask and Backstrom; Poolmaster
- Schremp and Brassard; Team
Stick Death - J. Johnson; Underdogs
- Fehr, Kaigorodov and Ryan; and Wings
Fan 28s - Downie |
11/06/2006 10:38:38 |
06-07/18 |
Firstly
- Am pleased to announce that Underdogs have added another “dog” to their
team in the name of Daniel Lyons, he will partner with both Lynda and her
Mom. Business at hand - I received two queries last
night from an astute poolie wanting clarifications on the SC Penalty rule and
the rookie salaries. I do profess not to be a lawyer nor an
expert; however, did stressed that as long the pool is fairly
administered, common senses applied throughout and the
overall integrity / objectivity hasn’t been compromised, then I am
satisfy with the pool. That
said, in order to apply some common senses and practicalities
throughout, I am therefore proposing the following 2 x item amendments: IR: 1. The
elimination of the IR {28th player} as this practice hasn’t been
used. The way IR has been used to date will continue as such;
therefore, an IR player will continue to be listed as being BENCHED i.e.
Havlat, Kubina and Bertuzzi etc. Perhaps, it is an IR Light; 2. As
agreed, once the IR player returns, teams will continue to have 24 hours only to come within the
$54M Cap; therefore, the onus is on all the teams to monitor/plan
accordingly and be ready to react; 3. All
teams without exceptions will continue the current practice of
keeping the minimum 25 or 27 maximum skaters, thus an IR
player will have to fit within your 25 or 27 skaters and on your
bench. You as the team owner can decides whether or not you wish to
place someone on IR, because it will affect your overall points and
subsequent ranking; and 4.
Again, the IR is solely a 1-year trial and will be
re-assessed in its entirety at season end and voted on by all. Rookie Salaries: Reference paragraph 6 note
1: 1.
The main confusion arises from a player like A. Kaigorodov, F, OTT who was
drafted by Ottawa and it appears that he was suspended for refusing to join
Ottawa’s AHL Binghamton farm team and thus freeing salary cap room for
the Senators where they don’t have to pay his salary and it doesn’t count
towards their Cap because he was sent down. This also applies to rookies such
as Radulov, Schremp, and few others like them. Therefore, if it is good for
the NHL am sure it should apply to us too; 2.
If a NHL team decides to send down any of these rookies, then the
following two options will apply:
a. a bench rookie salary will be listed
as ZERO; however, b. an
active rookie salary will be listed as such as Stats + Salary must go hand in
hand. 3. For
any other seasoned players such as Mogilny, salaries and stats will be listed
at all times. Hopefully,
these issues are clear and concise as this is been the norm since the beginning
of this season. Hopefully, all will
agree with this e-mail? If it is too contentious, I will then go for a
full vote. |
11/01/2006 9:47:37 |
06-07/17 |
Just
a short note to inform you that I will be away {Borden} Thursday and
Friday. Any League activities including FAPs and/or trades will be
addressed sometime Saturday in a chronological order. |
10/27/2006 9:15:55 |
06-07/16 |
As
per paragraph 21 of the rules {sorry Russ}, I have finally updated and
created a new web page link call “Rookies Status
06-07”. This new web page can be found under the first menu
drop “League Activities”. Therefore, this is it and we’ll continue to
update as new NHLers arrives. I
will throughout the weekend try or by the time the next set of stats comes
out update each individual roster. Incidentally,
since the switch over the revised “geocities” site, I haven’t had any
issues accessing the web. Hopefully, you’re not either. |
10/24/2006 7:54:39 |
06-07/15 |
I
wish to bring your attention and remind you of the Waiver Draft process
especially yours truly. There’s been an oversight earlier this
week on my part regarding D. Zubrus, F, WAS. Therefore, from now
on any dropped player’s must clear waiver first regardless the timing of
the week up to 2000 hrs the next Sunday. That
said; please re-acquaint yourselves with paragraph 8 in its entirety as this
effective immediately won’t happen again. |
10/23/2006 10:12:32 |
06-07/14 |
Following
a few calls to Yahoo USA, it was determined the DASH Web site was sitting on
the wrong domain; therefore, please amend your favorite as follows as I have
uploaded the whole site from and to: http://ca.
geocities.com/ybrunet@rogers.com/Hockey/home.htm http://geocities.com/ybrunet@rogers.com/Hockey/home.htm Basically,
just remove the ca
from the existing Web link as it is now sitting directly on Yahoo main server
and will in the future upload our files directly there. Let’s hope it now
works. |
10/17/2006 11:33:00 |
06-07/13 |
As you are well aware by now, the
DASH League pool is available online and yes to some including yours truly
the accessibility can be frustrating at times. That said, the WEB is on
Yahoo Geocities server through Rogers. However, many of us often get
an error message stating we exceeded an initial data transfer
allotment; therefore, closing the accessibility to all for a period of up to
an hour. Just enough to frustrate many of us. Therefore, I was
finally able to connect and investigate the issue further. They
recommend that I amend my current service with Yahoo by upgrading it to Yahoo
Geocities Plus which includes 500MB disk space and an
additional 25GM data transfer per month. Unfortunately, like everything
else’s there will added costs to my monthly Internet billing in the
amount of $14.90. Therefore, I propose that until
the end of 2006, there will no additional costs to you as I stand by this site
and want to make sure we see all an accessibility improvement of the DASH
website. Afterward, if all works well, I would then ask that we evenly
split amongst all the 15 x partners the additional costs; therefore,
the pool fees would then be $50 + approximately $12 web fees equaling to
a $1 each per month. I welcome your feedbacks? |
10/06/2006 3:10:40 |
06-07/12 |
As
of 1500 hrs Friday 06 Oct 06, all teams are now within the Cap of $54M.
All salaries including NHLers on IR status have all been factored in.
Others might change on short notice and I’ll keep you inform. Thank
you for the support and more importantly for those who were over the Cap your
due diligence work through trades and/or FAPs activities. |
10/05/06 22:05:46 |
06-07/11 |
Here
the latest MS Excel file as “unfortunately” the online server sometimes
brings me frustrations on its accessibility.
Will do my best to provide the info. |
10/05/06 21:09:37 |
06-07/10 |
For
those with cap issues, this is your last reminder that you MUST
be at $54M no later than Friday 1800 hours 06 Oct 06. Unfortunately, hard /tough decisions must
be made incl drops and FAP’s so all roster can be at 25 minimum. Failing to
meet this deadline SC penalty phases will kick in. |
10/04/06 09:38:24 |
06-07/09 |
As
the NHL teams prepare to begin tonight, many players have either been sent
down or made their respective team. As results, I have taken the liberty
to update the DASH salaries table and now available online. Therefore,
the following teams are now either slightly over the Cap or on
the bubble pending confirmation by NHLPA site including yours truly. Flycasters
{Kopitar unknown yet}; Nighthawks
{Picard $984.2K & Upshall $450.3K} Old
Time Hockey {Zherdev $1,750M & Brulé $850K}; Poolmaster
{Semin $1.3M & Barker $984.2K}; Silver
7s {Leclaire $700K}; Slam
Dunk {Burrows $500K & Bourdon $850K}; Team
Stick Death {J-S Aubin $525K}; Wing’s
Fan 28s {O’Sullivan $800K} *Still lot’s of room}; and Underdogs
{Gionta $4M +}. **Those
teams currently over the cap should know or ought to know already including
me** LOL!! Just
so you know, there’s been a trade and FAP claim already. The data is also
available online. Again, please let me know of any errors or omissions. |
10/03/06 14:33:23 |
06-07/08 |
With
the exception for the NHL releasing who will be identified
as rookie, the DASH WEB site is now fully operational. All the team
rosters have been fully updated, including those few teams with players on
“Injury Reserve” {IR} status. Those IR players’ salaries have been zero
pending their return status with a comment. Again,
by 1800 hrs this Friday 06 Oct 06 ALL teams MUST BE
at $54M including 25 x player minimum.
Therefore, you have plenty of options. If not, difficult decisions must be
made and if necessary the WD mechanism will kick in afterward. The
following WEB pages have also been updated:
Again,
I recommend we all make positive usage of the Comment/Forum to pass messages
such as non-availability and other informative comments to other partners. To
conclude, I take this opportunity to wish you the very best
for another successful pool year. Again, this is a highly
competitive pool and yes we are out to win!!!! |
10/02/06 19:42:34 |
06-07/07 |
Reference
to my last update 06-07/06, I’m still waiting for the following teams to
confirm their own individual roster: Destroyers, Old Time Hockey,
Underdogs, Wings’ Fan 28s and Winnipeg Jets. In
addition, these are in my opinion unusual circumstance where am
still updating many WEB pages and as a result am extending
the pre-season “CAP” deadline until 1800 Friday 06 Oct 06. All other
activities such as FAPs can take place. At
that time, teams over the agreed $54M
will have to make harsh/difficult decisions and player drops while keeping in
mind the mandatory minimum 25 players applies. I’ve
posted a few teams already and will do with the others as they
confirmed. Some teams i.e. 1919 Gen Strike already shows IR status and
those are easy identifiable in red. |
10/01/06 09:41:22 |
06-07/06 |
Here’s
the first cut at everyone’s roster. Please have a look and let me soonest of
any errors or omissions and if possible the corrective line entry. Thanks
for all of your support yesterday; it was fun, busy and hopefully rewarding
to all. With 7 of you on MSN and the rest of the bandits here, I think
it went well and hopefully we all have drafted the winning formula. Once
the rosters are 100% confirmed, I will post all rosters online and we may
begin trading again so we can all be at $54M by Tuesday. |
09/24/06 19:53:11 |
06-07/05 |
Reminder only - The draft is next Saturday {30 Sep 06} and in a deal
with octopuses, Old Time Hockey is now on the clock to make the first
selection at 1400 hrs {2pm Ottawa time}. I would ask that everyone be here or
on MSN at least 15 minutes prior to. For
those on MSN, again my MSN account is Nighthawks54@hotmail.com My
daughter Lauren, will generate a chat room with those on MSN {like Terry,
she’s an expert}. For
Terry - Please confirm that all 3 x Londoners will be at
your place? On
your Excel draft master list, please replace serial # 531 now GM Garth Snow with Mikhnov, Alexi F EDM. As
am off to Borden this Thursday and returning late Friday I’m wishing all good
preparations and see you all next Saturday. |
09/16/06 08:29:50 |
06-07/04 |
As
promised, here is the latest MS Excel file for your own usage as you see fit.
Please keep in mind while working on your upcoming draft list, I would really
appreciated that when calling up a name you would also referred to the
serial # associated with the draftee name, so it would that much more to
stroke off your list and us to enter/type the right name against the right
team. If
you feel there are some players who should be added, then please let me know
soonest and I will add them as this list is pretty complete including
retirees and new players who just arrived from Europe. |
09/15/06 20:29:00 |
06-07/03 |
Firstly
- Thanks very much for meeting this evening deadline, it’s much
appreciated and sure makes this hobby that much more interesting. That
said, with regards to all the teams protection lists, they’re all available
for viewing online. Please let me know of any errors or mission soonest and I
will rectify. You
will notice for yourselves there are many high payroll and I’ve posted
online under the “Comment Forum” a
process once the draft is completed involving a trading window opportunity
and if require a WD process prior to the NHL regular season starting.
In order to provide you with the master free agents “unprotected Player
List”, I will forward sometime this weekend the latest MS Excel file
as your working file. Please keep in mind the associated serial number
as my daughter Lauren will monitor the MSN desk {Sorry Russ}. |
09/11/06 17:21:31 |
06-07/02 |
Firstly – Unfortunately, I must inform you that I’ve received a
resignation e-mail this morning from JJ Dynamites informing us of his
intentions to leave the DASH League effective immediately as time spent with
his new IM-IT business venture doesn’t allow him to fully participate in the
DASH League and be an active partner the way the pool deserves. He
did want to express the following <QUOTE> He apologizes for the
inconvenience, he did appreciate all even though it was via e-mails and
wishes everyone’s well. Later, if time permits he will consider joining in
again as an expansion franchise <UNQUOTE>. As
a result, I wish to formally welcome our new partner Al Martin
“Snipers” – Al is from Base Borden
ON and who is told is a sniper from the Base Borden Hockey Team. Snipers’ updated info will be available
online later tonight. Secondly – With regards to this weekend motion <QUOTE>
Bring forward a motion to whether or not awarding Mezzy’s Cementheads
with a 1 x complimentary pick at the end of the upcoming 1st round
draft pick for the reasons mentioned on this weekend e-mail <UNQUOTE>.
Therefore, the motion received 10 to 4 approval. Thirdly – Plan for an expansion will still go ahead next year. Lastly – As you continue to plan your upcoming protection list,
all teams following the draft may be over the $54M SC. However, teams who are over must be ready
to go at $54M by 1800 hrs Monday 02 Oct 06. Therefore, trades
will open immediately following confirmation of all 15 x team rosters. Please
let me know of any concerns or queries. For Russ - Can you replace JJ Dynamites
data with Al Martin “Snipers”, Martin.AD@Forces.gc.ca |
09/10/06 11:15:38 |
06-07/01 |
With
regards to the idea to expand by 1 or 3 franchises in time for the season 2007-08, I wish to thank all of those
who have taken the time to answer. Therefore, the DASH League will
expand by 1 x franchise only, thus giving us a very good idea
how the first ever expansion process will work itself out. Expansion milestones as per paragraphs 25 to 30 of the
DASH rules plus: General outlines only - Once the
2006-07 playoff season is over, all existing team
roster’s will be frozen and everyone will have to provide me with their
protection list including the subsequent ranking of 8th skater on
forward once the new team will have picked a player from your existing roster
as I won’t return to you {therefore plan accordingly}. For 1 expansion franchise - All existing Franchises will
protect 6 players. As soon as the new Franchise “Snipers - Al Martin” has selected a player from
your team, you will be permitted to protect 4 more players. If
another player from your team is selected, you can protect your 1 remaining
players. As soon as the new Franchise has selected 10 players the expansion
draft is complete. That
said, the new team will draft during the weekend of July 1st 2007 and all existing
teams will have to identify whether or not they are in for the 2007-08 season and paid in full by 31 Jun 2007, so we may begin our summer
activities at the same time as the NHL where all the exciting actions
are now taking place. So
you may begin to plan now as the expansion draft and lottery will begin once
again early July 2007. Concerning
the 2007-08 draft, the new
franchise will select 5th overall
following the lottery teams. Therefore, when we fully resume,
Snipers will have then 10 players plus all his 17 round picks to begin
with. More
information to follow throughout this upcoming year - The intent was to
prepare you prior to the beginning of this season. To
clarify another point - Being first standby, Al martin {Snipers} will have
the option of taking over an existing team {if one decides to drop/fold} or
becoming an expansion team. |
